I know everyone says the water on the cruise is completely safe to drink, but humor me if you would ;)

Has anyone used the personal Brita filtration water bottles aboard the cruise?

I am sure you could, even though in our MANY cruises I have NEVER seen it... But why should one, when the water on the ship is actually cleaner than a Brita filter could ever produce. The water on the ship goes through a TRIPLE RO filtration system, which is more than MOST bottle water companies.... So why would someone lug the bottle or even the slender individual filter when it really has no purpose, usless you were planing to use it off ship. Now that I would not chance to just a Brita Filter. So I guess the answer is No, I have not seen it and No, I do not think it is really worth it.:thumbsup2

I have to agree. I used to work with water purification and have some experience with ship board distillation. Your hand-held system cannot improve what you're already getting onboard.

The water onboard, while probably cleaner/clearer than any you could buy, tastes different to some. I typically only drink water with meals, but I didn't care for the ship's water.

Very well put.

We're all so used to our treated home water, or bottled waters that add minerals to give the water a specific taste, that many folks think pure water tastes funny, when in reality, what they normally drink is the water with the funny taste..

We purchased Bobble personal filter water bottles for our recent trip to WDW. It works just like a Brita, and we got a very good deal for them. You can buy them on the Bobble site.
Good luck! :)

We used the Bobble too on the ship as well as our hotel at WDW.. We would fill it up and put it in our refrigerator..Cold great tasting water is a win win..:thumbsup2(We bought ours at Target.)

I know that the water on the ship is "safe" but I still like the idea of using the personal filtration water bottles, so thanks everyone for your responses :thumbsup2

I am a first time cruiser and was wondering about the water. Our family drinks ALOT of it. I will bring water bottles for all of us. Thanks!:thumbsup2

Again.... I would not bring a filter as the OP asked. That is NOT Necessary as a Brita filter nor any other filter will filter out anything more than a Triple RO system can filter out. That company that makes the "N" titled water, the "AF" water, the "D" water; companies do not go this as high of a filtration system. It is 3 times more filtered than any of the store brand water.... So, filtering Triple RO water is like taking your car through a "Detailed 2 hour car wash" then taking it through the $2 Car Wash at your local gas station. Did your $2 car wash just do a better job after your $85 car wash.... No, I think you just wasted $2..... Does that rambling make sense???

We, especially me, drink A LOT of water. It is very normal for me to down about 32 ounces with dinner alone... We usually use the ship's glasses on the ship and in the room. We actually do bring water bottles but they are aluminum ones, because we are very aware of the BPA in plastic water bottles. The bottles we use are just taken off of the ship. We fill them with the ship's water and clip them on to our belts and take them off the ship. Some people bring bottled water just for this reason.

Do know.... You can let your SRH know that you drink a lot of water and they will bring it to you. We have Room Service bring a pitcher of ice water in the morning, we have our SRH bring one at morning service and our SRH to bring one at turn down service. We ask for fresh glasses twice a day from our SRH and you get a card to ask when do you want ice delivered. We choose AM & PM and our SRH brings our pitcher, our ice bucket and glasses twice a day. We also have water in the DR....

So I hope that helps a bit!

Actually, the Brita bottle are BPA free, just wanted to point that out. Thanks for the info about the SRH bringing ice water when needed. :thumbsup2

My point, although the filtered water bottles "don't help" they certainly dont hurt, and if I am drinking my water out of a bottle anyway, then there is certainly no harm in drinking it out of Brita water bottle. :cool2:

Thanks for the tip about the SRH bringing ice water to your room!!:thumbsup2 I might have to do that on our cruise in 24 days!!!!:cool1:

I am 100% fine with drinking the ships water, my DW always has the bottled water delivered to our stateroom. Bring the Brita if you really don't want to drink the ships water; it's got to be a lot cheaper that way vs. buying a case or more.

I am not a real fan of water in general but I LOVE the ship's water. I drink a ton of it in the dining rooms and the drink station.
