I have been to WDW a few times but still enjoy reading guide books during the months leading up to my trip. Was looking for something different from what I have. If any which guide books do you find most useful/informative when planning?

Thank You

Do you have the Complete Walt Disney World? The 2010 version just came out the end of last week. I have the 2009 edition, and I am blown away by the pictures! I understand that it is a relative newcomer in the world of WDW guide books, but it has won some awards.

I too was looking for a different type of book as I have read all of the typical ones. As a historian, I really wanted a book on the history of WDW but haven't been able to fine one. There are books on the history of Walt Disney but I wanted one that focused specially on WDW not the rest of Walt's ventures.

There are a few books out there that deal with WDW trivia. The Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World: Over 600 Secrets of the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom by Susan Veness is an enjoyable read.

There is also a series called The Walt Disney World Trivia Book with several volumes by Louis A. Mongello but I haven't read these and some of them are several years old.

Actually, there is a more historical book, definitely not a guide book, called Realityland by David Koenig. The subtitle is True-Life Adventure at Walt Disney World. This would definitely get you your history fix, Ancestry! I think I got my copy at Barnes and Noble.

I am currently reading "Spinning Disney's World: memories of a Magic Kingdom press agent" by Charles Ridgway. Awesome book! Very funny and touching stories about Walt and the history of D-World.

Is this available at B&N, or is it from a specific site like some of Kevin Yee's books?

Thanks! I'm glad you liked the photos in the 2009 edition. The new book has almost 250 more photos than last year. I'd love to hear what people think :)

My 2010 copy should come tomorrow or Friday. Are you the author?

I am! I'm the researcher and writer; my husband Mike did the photography and layout. I'm guessing you have the book by now. What do you think of it?

Delivery was slow!!! That's the last time I choose the free shipping option from B&N!!! I received the book yesterday and flipped through it immediately. It is a WONDERFUL guide!!! Definitely one of the top guides out there (and my favorite)!!! The other guides are missing the pictures...a picture is worth a thousand words. I hate to say (don't take this wrong), but I am going to let my daughter use the old guide to supplement her pictures for scrapbooking. Those pictures are GREAT!!! Please tell your husband that for me.

I am reading the book you want right now. Realityland: True-Life Adventures at Walt Disney World by David Koenig. I am about 1/4 in and am enjoying it so far. Hope this helps.
