Mr. Mike so nice to hear something positive about the 14th floor. We will be there next month. I was a little nervous after I had booked but I am keeping my reservation. Can't wait to hear more.

Eller: When you say you didn't get your room request either time you stayed, was that at the Poly?
Debsx

Yes that was the Poly. The first trip was just a standard room, non-smoking. I can't remember now what the other request was; I think it had to do with floor, but that didn't happen.

The second trip was LVC, non-smoking, third floor, ended up on the first floor. Didn't really make or brake the trip, but balcony's are better for our family as we have a runner. (Small child when let go that runs, looks back to see if you are coming and when you are runs faster laughing all the way.)

I have a ? about AKL CL please?? I booked 1 night there before our Disney Cruise through DVC. We will be there Oct 12th, I received my confirmation letter today from DVC! :Pinkbounc I was wondering if they will contact me (wasn't sure since it went through DVC)? Or should I contact them?? I don't want to seem pushy, but it is less than 2 months away and I would like to make a room request at least! :rotfl: I would love some advise!!

I would contact AKL IPO now. Their phone number is: (407) 938-4755. I have found the best time to reach someone (not a voice mail) is between 4:30 - 8 PM Florida time. The concierge staff at AKL are fantastic. They will do everything they can to make your stay special. You might want to look into one of their safari's - time premiting. It is a wonderous experience. Hope you have a wonderful vacation. If I can answer any more questions let me know. :sunny:

When we stayed lvc at the Poly a couple of years ago we had requested third floor. I was a little disappointed at check in that we got a ground floor room...........until I saw that the patio was just a few steps from the beach!!! My family and I were very happy that we didn't get what I requested!!!! :earsgirl:

WheeW! I've read through all 45 pages and I've already made my AKL CL reservation for July 2006. I booked through DU, and this is what I'm gathering is my next step to insure a "hassle free" CL resort visit

1. Contact the staff at AKL to let them know my personal contact information

2. Let the Concierge staff book my ADR's and any other special events I would like as well as information on what is available

3.Let the Concierge staff know what things I would like to make the vacation extra special for my children (8th grader moving up to HS and 5th grader moving up to MS--that's the occasion and of course I want to make it special) and give them CC info. to pay for the extras.

Am I misssing anything? If this is this easy maybe DH can book a great 40th birthday for me with Poly CL :rolleyes1 Which is where I've always wanted to stay!

Thanks Angel16! I had actually thought about the sunrise safari, but felt it was probably booked up! I will call them today! :paw:

Jacksmom, Sending you pd for a safari reservation. Let me know how it turns out.

When are you arriving? We will be at ALK CL from Sept 30 - Oct 7th.

:cheer2: :cloud9: :cheer2:

Hi! Angel16! It worked! :wizard: I talked to Andrea this am and they do have the safari available! :cool1: We will be arriving Oct 12th. We are really getting excited! :jumping1: Thanks for your help!

W are soo excited to do the Sunrise Safari! I was wondering if someone could give me a review??

The food is wonderful. All the drivers have been wonderful. We have had children as young at 3 on the safari and it has not been a problem. We have done it twice and loved it both times!

I just have to say that I am sooooo excited and happy with Jeffery At the Polynesian Concierge office. I just sent him an email with my dining requests including Cinderella's Royal Talbe (lunch) and Princess Storybook dinner because my 90 days start this Thursday (90 days from the day we check in). He emailed me back this evening with confirmation #'s for all of my requests 3 days before my 90 day + 10 window starts.
We have stayed on disney property numerous times but this is our first Concierge experience and it is soooo worth it not having to worry about trying to get CRT or PSB at 7 am. :goodvibes

Hi to all! new to DIS boards...Just booked GF concierge lodge @ sugarloaf for New Years trip 12/27/07-1/2/07. We have stayed @ WDW twice. 1st was last october @ AKL savanna view. @nd was just last week 1 nite post wonder cruise for DS's 4th bday;we stayed @ AllStar Movies. We are doing a land/sea with extended family Jan. 06. I know next Xmas is a long way off-but any info about GF and this level concierge would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance! Angel

Just wondering if anyone else felt that the staff members at CR concierge are a little impersonal. I'm staying on the 14th floor in Sept and the responses that i've received leave something to be desired. I can't even get a direct answer to a question. I know I may sound like I'm whining but the 2nd half of our trip is at AKL concierge and their staff appears more personable and helpful. Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed this. Thanks for letting me vent.

Do you mean the pre- trip itinerary planners? CR shares them with the Poly and GF. I do not believe these are the same cast members who are actually on the 14th floor.

The experiences we have had with the CM's on the 14th floor have been nothing less than amazing. Always saying hi, or bye and have a great day. Always willing to chat for a few minutes, and get us whatever we needed.

Hopefully you will love it there.

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting on the DIS. I have been reading messages for a few days now and you all know so much about Disney that I am hoping you could answer a few questions for me. We are going to be staying at the WL concierge 10/29-11/4. We are bringing our 2 boys (5 & 2)We have been dealing with a travel agent for our meals and arrangments. The questions I have are.

1. It is our 7th wedding anniversary while we are there. :love2: I would like that day to still feel like our anniversary so does anyone have any suggestions on something I can do through disney for my husband. Should I mention this special occasion to concierge?

2. I thought I had read that concierge staff would not have any of my info (address and phone #). Should I email them and "introduce" myself and give them our home info?

3. What is "the planner" thing that I have read on some posts that concierge sends out to guests?

4. I thought I read that there is a new concierge lounge at WL. I have seen pictures that show the food "in the lobby." Is it now in it's own room? Can you sit and eat in there? If not, where do you sit to eat ?

5. Are there different levels of rooms on the concierge lever?

6. Does anyone else want to cry just thinking about the look of amazement on their childrens face when they first arrive to disney?!?!?

Thank you to anyone that replys to my message. I am sorry for having so many questions and not knowing all the "codes" for words. I will try and learn them very soon.

Thanks!!
Lisa

So far we have very positive results from CR Atrium club pre-planning. I sent our ADR requests in with the aprox. times we wanted to dine. I got an email back the next day confirming our times. All were within 10-15 minitues of what we requested. The answered my questions about adding on additional days in the parks and even offered to get our MNSSHP tickets.

Yes, I was talking about the pre-planning staff. I've dealt with both Poly concierge (wonderful), and AKL (verynice so far). I think it freaks me out that not even my e-mails are signed.

My DH, DD, and I stayed at WL CL this past July, so I will be happy to try and answer some of your questions. Here goes:

1. I contacted IPO before our arrival, it was our 5th anniversary, and worked with a planner(2 different people) and ordered chocolate covered strawberries for our arrival to celebrate. They were not in the room, and never came during our trip. But I did order my DD a Pal Mickey and he was waiting for her with balloons, cookies, and a card signed by Cinderella! Nice Pixie Dust! She loved it. I gave them my CC# and that is how I arranged her surprise! The extras were from the staff. I didn't even worry about the strawberries...and I was not charged for them! Someone dropped one ball, but another IPO person grabbed it and scored a touchdown!

2. As soon as I made my CL ressie, and any one I do make, I contact IPO immediately and introduce myself. I have worked with two different IPO staffs and they all have emailed me back within 24 hours!

3. In all of my CL stays, I have only gotten one planner and I didn't even send it in; I just emailed or called IPO to introduce myself!

4. The new CL was in the process of being opened when I was there. I got a "tour" and it is nice. That is where the food was going to be presented with your "lounge" options still around the upper balcony railings for seating and gathering. Their food options were really excellent for all services!

5. There are different views, but I think they all cost the same. We got a courtyard view and it was nice to see the pool, the geyser, the lake, the sunrise, and EWP in the evening!

6. My daughter wasn't feeling well when we arrived, but when she saw where we were, the room, Pal Mickey, the balloons, the cookies, and the card from Cinderella...SHE WAS THRILLED!

:wizard: ENJOY your WL CL experience...IT WILL BE WONDERFUL! :earsgirl:

Don't get me wrong the pre-planning staff made all of my reservations for the times that we requested. It's little things, like they forgot to e-mail my itinerary. I had to e-mail them after I received my itinerary from AKL. I was just hoping to have an individual that I could speak to. I promise I'm not difficult or demanding. I'm just nervous because I had different interactions with both Poly concierge and AKL concierge.

Note my answer in the above post to #1. That was my second time of working with the GF, POLY, CR, & WL IPO. The first time they totally dropped the ball when I was going to stay at the GF RPC, so I gave them another shot with my WL CL stay. One person dropped the ball after I had been in constant contact with him, while the other did an excellent job of following my orders to a T! :confused3

:rotfl: "Their IPO is like a box of chocoloates...you never know what you're gonna get!" :rotfl2:
