I'm jealous that you were able to get the free dinning. We are going the last week in September. CM said we could not get free dinning because we were staying in a suite.
We'll be there overlapping, we're staying 14th floor from the 25th through the 30th then we are moving over to AKL concierge. We couldn't get an AP discount so we took the free dining. I'm also contemplating the 12th floor because I really want a MK view, so I may switch at check in if I get the lagoon view.

We will be there the 26th thru the 1st. Too funny. I'm sure we will see each ohter.

Called today to see if I could get the free dinning. CM said since I was in the suite I could not get the fee dinning. So, I asked if I switched to the 12th floor and got 2 rooms could I get the free dinning. CM said that they only rooms at the CR left with free dinning were the wing rooms. I said I would just keep what I had. So, at least now I don't have to make a decision.

Just booked my first Poly GVC and I am super excited, we have stayed at the Poly, AKL, GF and WL but never in Concierge.

For those of you who booked your ADR thru the concierge services do they do it at the 90 day mark. I have always made ADR's myself so to have that job turned over to someone else is going to be hard but i am so excited also about not having to do it this time.
And do they contact you after your ADR's are made?

From what I understand, the Poly does a wonderful job with pre-planning assistance. Are you booked in concierge yet? If you are, then you should definitely drop them an e-mail, introduce yourself and get the ball rolling. Some of the resorts send out a helpful packet of information and I think the Poly is one of them. Pre-planning will set up a personal itinerary for you. This can include dining, tickets, tours, cruises, etc. Anytime you want to (you don't have to wait for the 90 day window), just drop them an e-mail with a request and they will add it in. When the appropriate time comes for them to make the reservation, your request will be transferred to a confirmation. If you want CRT for breakfast on Dec 8th at 8am, just let them know. If you're flexible with your time, give them a range. They'll put in exactly what you ask for though. You can request an e-mail copy of your intinerary at any time. Before the 90 day window, they will be pending items and following that, you should see confirmation numbers filled in.

Okay one more ? I have read the when you check in at the Poly you tell the Bell man and they take you directly to the Hawaii building to check in instead of going thru the Cermonial House (am I right)??
So when you arrive at the Hawaii Check in do they give you a Lei, my DD remembers that from her last visit to the Poly and keeps asking me>

Yes, you will get leis at checkin in Hawaii.

Usually people are offered rides back to Hawaii...little tours of the resort. We prefer to just walk back there as entering the GCH is part of the experience for us.

Have fun!

Hi, just an FYI that at the CR, there is no 12th floor Tower Club anymore. Well......at least not for a while. The 14th floor is now called the Tower Club and the old Tower Club is now called the Atrium Club and is on the 10th floor.

And I'm fairly certain that the rehab on the 10th floor has been completed. :wave2:

Last year we stayed LVC at the poly and recieved a chocolate post card of the resort. :earsboy:

This year we are staying GF RPC - do they have anything along the same line offered? :confused3

The GF has ALL sorts of wonderful things you can order....including a chocolate box of chocolate cigars with the GF Logo on them.

Isn't that wonderful! It's a work of art! Love it!

The postcard was a perk for staying concierge (I think). I was curious if we'd see a chocolate post card from the GF.

I've stayed on RPC level at GF many times and do not recall a chocolate post card. The only place i have ever gotten a chocolate postcard was at V&A for my birthday once....

Is concierge pretty good with following through on special requests without reminders? I made a couple requests for our upcoming Poly stay (items pre-set in the room). Should I email a couple of days before our trip to ensure it is remembered or is it not necessary? thanks

I've never had a problem, but it might make you feel better and less stressed to send them an email a couple of days before outlining what is supposed to happen.

Alacazander, as Mister Disney mentioned, the GF has many special items that can be ordered, but no signature complimentary items.

mlwear, you can verify with your credit card company that the items you ordered have been purchased. If you haven't seen the charge a few days prior to arrival, then I would definitely give them a reminder call or e-mail.

How do we find out what all is offered? I ask IPO about having special items placed in the room and they suggested we could contact the Disney Florist. I would rather have something special from the GF to surprise my sweetheart. Is there a site I can check out for these items?

The Box of chocolate cigars is beautiful. Almost too beautiful to eat. :rolleyes1

I agreee! And Mister Disney, just how much are those cigars? I bet my kids and I could eat them ALL!

Angel, when I stayed at the GF with just DH, I wanted to do something special also. The IPO staff didn't go much out of their way with suggestions, only telling me that I'd be better off dealing with private dining myself. I can't find their outside number, but you can just call the resort directly and asked to be transferred.
