Useful Concierge Information

Actually, for about the past 6 months at least, my concierge stays have included automatic emails from "Corp
Business Objects" welcoming me to Walt Disney World and the particular resort ( so far from CR, GF and Poly). It is a form to be emailed back to the specific resort's itinerary planning email address and asks for all sorts of info, such as expected arrival time, flight numbers, if applicable, dinner show requests, recreation requests, and dining requests.
If Disney has your email then you should receive this form.

I have also received these emails for each stay at club level. All I've had to do is return the form with the information and they take care of the rest.

Our next stay is at the Beach Club Concierge and hoping I have not made a mistake. I've heard some not so good things about it recently and I'm getting a little nervous. Is there anyone out there that can give me some insight as to what to expect? Also, does anyone know where the "deluxe rooms" are located and do they all have full balconies? and what are the views?

I'm sorry for so many questions, just a little worried. We promised the kids the BC this yr for the pool but are used to staying at the poly and AKL, so I'm not sure what to expect. Thanks in advance!!

Hi, I am going on a girls only trip on May 1st and we are staying in a Deluxe Concierge room at the BWI. I have been know to have a cocktail at night and I was wondering if I email the concierge staff and ask for Stoli Razz and sprite can they get that for me and have it in my room? They have my credit card on file. Its just that im not sure if that is something they can do for me. Does anyone know? Thanks

Hi Dizzknee :) cute name. Concierge will be happy to arrange for just about anything you would like in your room, placeing the charges on your credit card with you permission. There is some problems with alcohol, as they want to make sure it is received by an adult (over 21). I am not sure if they will have it waiting in your room or make a delivery once you check it.

If you are driving or renting a car you may want to bring it with you or stop off and pick it up on your way to WDW. It will cost quite a bit less.

Just booked WL CL for December 13-21 and I am so excited :yay:. We LOVE  the Lodge, but we have never stayed Club Level before. I sure am looking forward to it.

If anyone wants to share any info, please do.

We are planning a WDW trip for Dec 2009. It is going to be my parents, husband, myself, and our two daughters. Our daughters (age 3 and 5) want to stay at the Animal Kingdom so they can see all of the animals. My mother and I are wanting to stay at the Grand Floridian to see all of the beautiful christmas decorations. We are wanting to do concierge service. Can anyone answer these few questions for me:

1. What level of a room do I have to book to get concierge service level? I don't have to do a suite or anything do I because we are thinking it might be easier to do two seperate rooms.

2. Which hotel has the better concierge service? Opinions?

3. Which hotel has better views? and what should I ask for when I do reservations?

TIA! :thumbsup2

I'll try to answer some of your questions. You do not have to book a suite for concierge service. I have no expeience with concierge at AKL, so can't be much help there. The GF has two options for concierge, Royal Palm Club which is in the main building and Sugar Loaf which is an outer lodge. When you book ask for a club level room in the main building or outer lodge depending on what you want, at AKL just ask for a club level room. It is hard to beat the GF at Christmas, or any time for that matter. They have the best Christmas decorations, but it is also very very busy, since so many guests from other resorts will go to see the decorations. You also can't underestimate the convience of being on the monorail, especially with young children. How long are you going to be there? Would you concider a split stay? Stay a couple of nights at AKL so the kids can see the animals, then move to the GF for the rest. I know a lot of people like the AKL, but consider that it is a long way from anything except the Animal Kingdom and it closes very early. At the GF you have monorail access to two parks. It is very easy to run over to the Mk for an hour or two at night, not so easy from AKL.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all the great information in this thread!

We just booked 3 AKL concierge rooms for Oct 5 - 10 and I had no idea what we were in for. I've had all of my questioned answered and more. Now if anyone had any pic's of the set up, I'd be :cloud9:

Thanks again everyone!!!

Pikafreaks, you are going at one of my favorite times of year. October is beautiful weather and and the Food and Wine Fest is starting then too. As well as my first choice for a fantastic resort. You ask for pictures "of the set up" I am not sure exactly what you ment. However, here are a couple of links that might give you some photos to get you excited prior to your visit.

I would go through your concierge planner at SL GF. Our experience was that our concierge planner worked with the grand gatherings CM to make sure all our requests and wishes where taken care of. You concierge planner should be able to give you ideas of things to do, what is offered through GG and they have always worked very hard to make our trip beyond our greatest expectations.

You are going to be so wonderful pampered staying concierge level. :cloud9: Warning - You may find it difficult to go back to non-concierge. :scared1: WE DO! :)

Thanks for the answer angel16. That is what we will do. Just confirming - if we have special room requests, certain families connecting, we let IPO know or do we fax the room assigner like we have at non-concierge. I agree I think it will be very hard to go back!!!

We stayed at AKL and GF last Christmas, both were wonderful. If I had to choose one I'd go for the GF. The Christmas decorations are beautiful and the gingerbread house in the lobby gives off the most wonderful scent. If you are staying GF RPC try to book the deluxe rooms; there is more space and we got it for just about $10 more than a regular RPC room. You might want to check out the GF FAQ thread, I gathered so much good information there.

Concierge service: The level of service was way better for us at GF than AKL. It might have been because we were at GF during the week and moved to AKL on a Saturday, but the service at AKL was just not there. There are many that love the AKL CL, so I am assuming I hit them on an off weekend.

Club lounge: GF was a winner for us here. We loved ending our day by sitting at the balcony and listening to the orchestra play. The food offerings were plentiful and there was always lots of seating available.

IPO: AKL was the winner in this department. The staff in the IPO office are hands down the best. They go above and beyond in helping you plan your vacation.

The one thing that tips the scales for us to AKL is being able to do the Sunrise Safari. It truly was the highlight of our trip.
The down side is that the rooms at AKL are tiny compared to the GF, it was really hard to go to a smaller room after a week at the more spacious GF.

Hope this helps!

I would let your concierge CM know, they will make notes and try to check on your room arrangements. Actually, I would probably contact your GG planner too. With a trip like yours :goodvibes I would want to cover all bases to ensure everything going as perfect as possible. Now, that said....Your requests are just that. AKL will do everything they can to honor your requests. But they are restricted by guests currently staying at the resort when you arrive. We have been very blessed on our trips. However, we did end up on the Sunset savannah last visit. We had requested a King room 5th floor on Zebra Trail. They honored our King bed request but we were placed on the 6th floor looking out at the SS - :guilty: Not nearly as nice as Zebra Trail. During our visit it was mating time for some of the animals so they were staying over in one area (NOT on the Sunset Savannah). We had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed being close to the lounge. AKL did offer to move us to a two queen bed room in the location we had requested. My DH is 6'4" and sleeping with him in a queen is
So we kept the King. All in all we were at WDW staying at one of the very best resorts on Disney Property IMHO :flower3:

Hi, last went to YC concierge in December 2006, whilst it was nice I found it chaos when the evening offerings were out (it was like feeding time at the zoo :scared1: ).

Have also stayed GF RPC and BWI and neither were like the YC.

However, I really enjoyed the resort and with Epcot being my favourite park I've opted to return to the YC (lagoon view concierge room), just wondering if it's changed for the better? (or if it's still the same).

Thanks

Could someone please post the current Poly concierge e-mail? I e-mailed using the one on the first page and haven't head back from anyone.

I have heard about a form you get to forward back to the planning people. Are they still doing this or do you just email them your ADR list? Thanks

The BC is for sure. They just e-mailed it to me last week. I'm not sure about the others.

I agree. When i booked GF Concierge over the phone I received an email from "Corp Business Objects" welcoming me to the GF Concierge. If you don't give them an email address upon booking they will snail mail you a welcome along with the above mentioned questionaire. (we got this in the mail when we added a second room but didn't give an email address).

After i emailed back my questionairre i started receiving emails from my a specific CM at the GF concierge. You should definitely check on why you have not been contacted (or check your snail mail for the welcome!)

We did not have any form for AKV, I even asked and was told no form necessary just send them my requests which I did.

Could someone please let me know if on the morning of check in at the Wilderness Lodge if we would be able to eat the continential breakfast? I guess that almost sounds kind of cheap of me, but I have four teenages with me and it occurred to me when I was making dining reservations that we were already going to be checking into the WLR very early from the BCV, so we could get the most out of our stay............then I thought, why eat out if we could maybe get the breakfast there, instead of out? Thanks for your help. Any other pointers you might have would be greatly appreciated, it's our first time at the WLR and we are staying in the Jr. Suite. We are DVC, so I'm usually used to a little more room, but I can't wait to experience this resort.

Yes! Concierge services start upon arrival and end at midnight on the day you check out. We have always arrived early for check in (like 730-800) and enjoy breakfast before heading out for the day. We also return at least once after check out to get drinks before we leave. We always have a vehicle so we leave it parked at the resort and use Disney transportation for the day.

Enjoy your trip!!!
