Just to add my 2 cents...
We just returned from our honeymoon trip, part of which was spent at the GF RPC before going abroad. I made very few requests of the IPO or the CMs on site (I made the majority of my own ADRs including waking up at the crack of dawn to reserve the coveted V&As chef's table and to book one of the GF cabanas). The one request I made to IPO was to have a congratulations-type card from one of the characters sent to my husband. I knew he would really get a kick out of that. It didn't arrive day 1. I asked about it on day 2 and was assured it would come - in fact I was told they put in another request just to be sure - it didn't come. Again I asked on day 3 - it never arrived. I just find this to be inexcusable - that we are paying for a service and such a simple request can't be satisfied. :sad2:

I love the GF - but they really need to work on training the CMs. It used to be a flawless experience where your every wish was granted.

thats to bad
I asked for a card for my MIL and they offered something else
Rovert didnt seem to have confidence that it would come
now i see why

You may consider moving to the BWI. I love the CR but the level of service at the BWI we have found far superior to other WDW resorts where we have stayed. Bottom line is they should have asked you more specifics on booking your needs and then taken care of them.

will hvae to agree with disneydave. Thew BWI is awesome to work with.I have found their IPO to be very good, however since I am there so much, I just call and have friends from the Innkeeper's Club do things for me. By this I mean changing some already scheduled dinners and also for special treats fo my trips and for my Dis friends that I have brainwashed to stay at the BWI. I love everyone there.

you know..its been a while since i stayed at the BWI and never club level... i will def keep that in mind for next year. Cant change this year...we are going with too many other people.

Kerry is right. I have concierge at WL GF BC BWI and the BWI staff was teh best I have ever dealt with. The onsite people are really good, actually amazing. I wanted to go their this summer and it was not available. I ended up staying at the GF and Robert at the Sugar Loaf was great. Jackie, Lorenzo and Pete brought something special to my trip. The friendliness was really something and they reaaly seemed to care. ALways asking if I needed something and really going the extra mile. Julia from the IPO there is really nice to.
Good luck to you

OK quick question.... I have three WL CL rooms booked for 8 days in November. I really didn't enjoy my CL experience there and am contemplating switching resorts. I know there is availability at GF and the Poly for my dates. (I'd like to stay at a MK resort since my dds are 4,3 and 2 months and that's where we spend most of our time.) What's the deal with GF? If I want night time offerings I need to book Royal Palms because nothing is offered in the evening at SL? On WDW website it lists nothing after afternoon tea. A deluxe room seems to offer alcohol and evening selections.... :confused3

Any comments/advice:flower3: is appreciated. Thanks!

That's outdated information. Sugar Loaf offers the same exact items as Royal Palm now. There aren't any deluxe concierge rooms available in Sugar Loaf, only Royal Palm. If you want to take a look at Allears, they have photos from both RPC and SL. You can compare the two and decide what's best for your family. The main difference between them are the views offered and the ambiance of the lounge.

tammi do you have a link to your YC trip report around.
I wanna read up.
Hi Kelly, here it is. Hey, I have a present for you by the way. I saw it online right after you left for the GF and I thought of you immediately. I don't know if it's one you already have, but it's a pin with the Daisy from Alice in Wonderland painted on a white background. There's a 3-D pin attached of Alice sitting on a flower. Around the border, it says "Grand Floridian Resort & Spa". I had to get it for you. When you get a chance, send me a PM or e-mail with your address so I can send it along.

wow thats so nice of you Tammi!
I was looking for some Alice pics when I was there and they had nothing. I was bummed to say the least.
Thanks so much.
I am booked for the Yacht Club CL for Sept and I thought you had a good stay so I wanted to read it again.

I have been currently working with YC's IPO..and they have been wonderful!
Looking forward to our stay...I was originally booked with WL CL and not pleased with the initital contact, or lack thereof.

Has anyone stayed at CL at AKL lately? We'll be there from Aug. 17 - 24 and I was wondering how the service, food, etc. was.

Hopevully, this isn't a duplicate post. I've gone through most of these posts for July, but haven't seen anything for AKL CL

I have read rave reviews abt AKL CL:)
Try allears.net...there is info there as well...that is next on my list for end of Feb!!

I havent seen much about akl and was owndering if it was because of all the consturction. I would check out allears and also the AKL FAQ thread I bet there is stuff there.

OK, after being pleasantly surprised with the response of the CR IPO for many of my previous requests, they're letting me down this week... Up until now, I've always received responses within a couple of hours of sending my e-mails, but this week, I sent an e-mail asking to change some of my dining plans, and they have not replied in two days.

How long do you usually give them before re-sending an e-mail? I don't want to be a pest if they're just backlogged.

Thanks!

I've stayed concierge 4 times but for the life of me I can't remember whether they (concierge staff) are able to take your luggage on your last day so that you don't have to go stand in line at the resort airline check-in desk. :confused3

I know that concierge can do the online check-in thing for us and print out our boarding passes (we usually do this the day before since our airline allows this up to 24 hours in advance), but I can't remember about the luggage! Thanks! :)

I'm having the exact same problems with CR too right now! We never received anything from them before our 180 day mark and now we're at the 140 day mark and I have e-mailed to them (at: wdw.contemporary.concierge@disney.com) 3 times now and NEVER gotten any response. Since we're going near Christmas I've had to go ahead and make some of our ADRs. While trying not to get angry I am very disappointed. We had superior e-mail contact from the WL IPO who did all our ADRs and set up several special things for our 35th anniversary last October.

Am I using the correct e-mail? Should I call yet? I feel especially pressured since we are going one week before Christmas.

Thanks for listening!

You are using the correct e-mail address. As an update, I just resent my request today, and I did hear back within a couple of hours. So, who knows, maybe some days are busier than others and some e-mails go unanswered on busy days?

I don't know if calling will yield better results (I've read here that e-mail is preferred). There is also a fax number, I'm not sure if they'll respond to that.

Keep trying and Good Luck!
