Any recent feedback on the Sugarloaf CL at GF? We will be staying there in September. Also, how long should I expect between emailing them and hearing back from them. Thanks!:thumbsup2

We are staying at the RPC and I think they share the same planning office. I heard back the next day. She was really nice, but a little slow getting my ADRs so I did them myself. We'll be there in Sept. too!

I've been poking around this thread for a while...lots of great information.

I just wanted to say that I have also received sporatic response time from the poly IPO. I've actually thought of not staying CL but many things about the CL are easier with three very small children. I assume when they're a bit older, we won't take on the expense of CL. Aside from the food offerings, we've never really experienced a higher level of service. I also made the majority of my ADR's and arrangements due to really slow response time. I've also left phone messages and not gotten called back for days. I still love the lounge and CL bldg. at the poly so I am happy to be staying there. I haven't complained b/c I just don't expect anything. It's unfortunate, b/c at $100 more per night, I agree, there should be a higher level of service. The CL staff and the Hawaii bldg. were never very friendly. We went out of our way to say "hi" to them when we came and went. They never were very warm...very different from our stays at other concierge floors throughout the country.

Does anyone here know how many people make up the CL staff in the Hawaii bldg.??

Our dealings with the AKL's IPO office have been GREAT!! I have nothing but great things to say about them! In fact, I would rate them top notch!

I have gotten a quick response (less then 24 hour turn around time) on every email/phone call I have sent. Most times it was a same day response. Also, they booked every request I had and had the confirmation email in my inbox before I even logged in on the morning of my 180 day!

So....AKL IPO gets two thumbs way up from us!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I've been trying to send an email to the WL staff for a few hours and here is the message I'm getting back.

WDW WLodge Itinerary Planning on 4/13/2007 11:55 AM
The message could not be delivered because the recipient's mailbox is full.

Anyone know of a alternate email address? I've been sending it to : wdw.wlodge.itinerary.planning@disney.com

I think that is it. I will check my address book. I would call them and leave a message saying you cant thru.

I emailed my ADR's to the Poly in advance. They confirmed that they had received them and that they would send confirmation numbers once they were booked. I made my own ADR's for a couple of hard to get things just in case. My 180 mark came and went and I never received confirmations. I then made the rest of my ADR's. After several emails, approx. a week after my 180 day mark, I got an email from the Poly that they had made some fo my ADR's, but that some wern't available. IMO, if I could make them myself at my 180 day mark, there is no excuse for them not being able to.

Just to chime in here... I went ahead and made my ADR's for September a little while back because I did not hear anything from the Poly staff either. I never did get an email from them like they said they would provide when ADR'S were booked - instead I got an email after I complained that someone in reservations casually told me I was doublebooked for Cindy's breakfast when I was switching stuff around. That is how I found out they had made my ADR's at all.

that stinks wendy
i asked them to cancel some stuff and the never did
i found out when I called dining myself
I was very surprised
i dropped the club level

What is going on here?! I keep reading about everyone's IPO experiences (as well as comparing my own) and I'm AMAZED Disney is really dropping the ball on this one. At this rate, the concierge floors/bldgs are bound to lose all their business!:confused3

Here is a little pet peve of mine. If people are frustrated by the IPO for lack of service they have a right to be, however it is totally unfair to blame the Concierge floors/buildings because they have nothing to do with the IPO. The Cast Members who work in the IPO offices are 100% different from the Cast Members who work in the Concierge floors/buildings at the Resorts. So I just hope others can remember these facts.

I completely agree with what you're saying. However, two important points here........First, you are well known at the CR and have had great service there (from what I've read). MOST people who stay on the CL floors do not REGULARLY receive outstanding service if they don't have a connection with the staff. Secondly, if a person's first experience with the "concierge experience" is with the IPO and the service is lacking... it will (and in some cases has already) deter people from experiencing Concierge. I've read more than a couple posts where people changed ressies from CL to regular rooms b/c they were not impressed with the IPO.

We've stayed at concierge floors at Disneyworld, Disneyland, and a couple other hotels in the country. I can honestly say that the concierge experience is "not what it used to be" at Disneyworld. Judging from some others posts, many feel the same way. I will say that we've stayed concierge at the three monorail resorts. The best staff we experienced at any was years back at the 12th floor CR "light" concierge. The worst was GF RPC, if you can believe it! In all cases, the folks serving the food were the nicest....not the attendants at the desks.

TAMMI.....are you out there??? :)

I can see the points your are trying to make, especially the ones about the 1st time Conciegre guests who do not know much about Conciegre service at WDW and how things are done. So I guess as a Concierge veteran it's easy for me to say the IPO Cast Members and Resort Concierge Cast Members are different, even though that is 100% truth. As for the guests who do not recieve good service on the actual Conciegre floor or building itself, well that is a different situation and it makes me sad when guests post about things like that. However my family and I should not feel guilty because we have had good service, when someone else had not so much good service. Plus it's only natutal we have good dealings with the Cast Members because as you said yourself, after a few stays up there they start to know you.

Also as of January 1st 2006 the Atrium Club 12th floor Concierge at the Contemporary became a full Concierge floor, so they serve the exact same foods and drinks that the Tower Club on the 14th floor serves. So they are no longer a Concierge light floor.

Hello -- Hopefully this is the right place for this; if not, I apologize!

We've booked a land/sea thru DCL, with our land portion at AKL. I called DCL about upgrading to concierge level at AKL (primarily, but not only, so we can do the sunrise safari) and was told someone would try to set it up with the resort and call me back. I didn't hear back, and after about a week I called DCL, and was told that they were "unable to clear the waitlist". The DCL rep said that, basically she thought that they were done as far as trying to get us concierge. I do know that AKL won't even receive our reservation info until about a week prior to our visit... but, in the meantime, is there anything I can do to try to get upgraded? Aly advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You are ABSOLUTLEY correct....you and your family should NOT feel guilty b/c you are known atthe CR and have received great service. I think it's great and it's the way it should be! If you are known somewhere (restaurants, stores, etc.), it's only natural that you receive a different level of service. We have places we frequent here at home and also receive special service b/c of it. It's just the way things are. I hope I didn't imply you should feel guilty about that. I think it's great (and also enjoy reading your posts BTW).

Thanks, I was aware that there is one level ofconcierge at the CR now. I was just referring to our stay there some years back when it was "concierge light".

No you did not imply that my family and I should feel guilty. It was a general statement about my family having good service on the Atrium Club and others who have had not so good service at the other Concierge floors/buildings in the Deluxe Resorts. So you have nothing to worry about if you think you made my family and I feel guilty.

and we have so far experienced excellent service from all three IPO office's staff (BWI, AKL, and POLY). We have received timely responses to our over fifteen different email messages in over a month's time period. We have received every ADR and tour; including the sunrise safari at AKL that we asked at the right time and date with confirmation from the various IPO staff members. I believe we are happy with our response time because we don't expect an answer within 24 hours; which might be a little more difficult to do with the increase in the amount of people desiring to stay CL.

That's fantastic! I'm glad you've had such a great exp. I think that what people have been sharing is that the response time can often be hit or miss.....sometimes taking multiple emails or calls over periods of a week or more. Happy you're experience has been so great!

I'm a huge fan of the Hawaii concierge at the Poly. I think they have the best lounge, and I've never had an issue with the CMs. The IPO office recently had some staffing changes, so there are a lot of new people in there still learning the ropes, but even then there are only minor delays in the replies, and nothing that bothers me :)
