The tickets are "Will Call" tickets. Instead of going to Guest Relations and waiting in line to get the tickets, the Concierge takes the number, and prints out the tickets onto the same plastic ticket that is used for room keys.

The other alternative is to have the tickets mailed to your home, and IPO doesn't usually like to do that because the event isn't for another 6+ months, and you might forget to bring the tickets with you or lose them. The confirmation number is much easier and safer.[/QUOTE

Thanks!!

Great to learn about the tickets for the special parties. We are seriously considering going to MVMCP during our trip. I will e-mail concierge today with our dates.

Thank you, Tammi. That was just what I was looking for.

I found a link about the Sugar Loaf, complete with outstanding pictures, is that your web page? I can't wait for vacation! :cool1:

I believe the website you're referring to is the one set up by Steph H. She did an amazing job.

Can anyone tell me the opening hours for the YC IPO please? I have been trying to call them today but the phone is continuously busy.

Thanks.
The Itinerary Planning Offices right now are getting very busy, because they are gearing up for both the summer and winter holiday seasons. Now that guests can book many things 180 days out, that about doubles the IPO work load. Please be patient with the offices, they will get back to you as soon as they can.

E-Mail is also a good way to get ahold of them.

Thanks Tyler, I think I'll stick with email.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think they go back into inventory as soon as the cancellation goes through. I had one CM that had it then it was gone then had it back. :teeth: CGV is tough to get since it's on the cheaper of the two. Have you tried for a CLV? Call at the 5 day cancellation mark, too. You never know what might happen. :wizard:

I got it in my head a bit ago that I wanted the 1 bdrm suite at AKL. Well, our trip is in June so of course all the suites are booked. I guess I'm in the same boat as you. I'll keep my regular concierge room pending a little pixie dust. pixiedust:

Will I ever learn to stop procrastinating?

As of 9:00 this morning, no Concierge rooms at all were available...what a bummer :guilty: I'll keep calling though, if I don't get it, it wasn't meant to be.....and I'll STILL be a the Poly

Thanks for all the great information on this thread. I email IPO for the Poly this morning and received a reply in a matter of hours! My trip isn't until August but I want to get all of the planning out of the way. This thread was ohhh soooo helpful. :smooth:

Hi everyone,
planning a trip to GF May 2007 and i'm just so confused about the different levels of concierge here. We will be staying in the Main building. Is there 2 diff types of concierge in there? Standard and deluxe? If so what is the diff? also could someone please tell me the diff between a honeymoon room and a standard concierge room. TIA for your help :)

Nemmie, what can be a bit confusing about the GF is that they offer concierge in two of their buildings. The first is called lodge concierge and it can be found in Sugar Loaf. The second is called the royal palm club (RPC) and it's located in the main building. There is no difference in the services, just some subtle differences with views and the size of the lounge.

In RPC, the rooms and services are spread out over the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor. On the 3rd floor, you'll find rooms, the concierge staff and a large balcony. Up on the 4th floor, there are more rooms, plus the lounge. It has some tables & chairs, sofas, kid size furniture, 2 tvs, floor to ceiling windows that overlook the garden courtyard and the interior overlooks the lobby below. On the 5th floor, you'll find some additional seating and mostly suites. There's no difference in the level of concierge service in the main building, but you do have room choices. You can book standard, which is 2 queens or 2 queens & a daybed (they sleep 5), there are deluxes, which are still one room, but bigger square footage (they sleep 4). They also have two styles of the honeymoon suites. The standard style (I believe there are 10) are all located on the 2nd floor and have an MK view. They are the same size as a standard, but all come with a king bed, sitting area and jacuzzi tub. The other style is called the turret suite (6 of these). These are a little more than twice the size of a standard. There is a 4 poster king bed, a large seating area, walk in closet, soaking tub for two, wetbar, but no balcony. Instead, they have 8 palladium windows that offer a panoramic view. The deluxe rooms and the honeymoon suites are more expensive. If you decide to book a honeymoon suite, you can request a certain style, but there's no guarantee of which one you'd get. Feel free to visit my homepage and click on the Grand Floridian link. I have layouts of all the different room styles if that helps.

wow Tammi, you really know your stuff! you have been so helpful.
So just to recap, we could have a deluxe room with 2 queen beds which would be larger than a standard concierge room. Or we could have a honeymoon room which will either be a turret which looks huge and wonderful, or a standard sort of size with a balcony. One more question do the turret rooms have MK view? That is fairly important to us. Thanks again.

Nemmie, you have the room configuration correct. We're a family of 5 and honestly, we found that the standard rooms are plenty big enough. In fact, with the lounge being available, we basically used that as our living room and pretty much just slept and changed in our standard room.

3 of the turret rooms have an MK view. The window view starts from the Poly and the Wedding Gazebo, wraps around to the beach, the courtyard gardens and finally the castle in the distance. With the 2nd floor honeymoon suites, the balcony has a direct castle view.

oh wow the turret rooms sound wonderful. To be able to see both MK and the wedding pavillon wowow, we are getting married there so that would be very special. Do you know if they permit smoking in the honeymoon rooms?

You wouldn't know those 3 room numbers would you Tammi? Or how i could find out?

Nemmie, I don't know if they are considered smoking optional. We stayed in one a few years ago and I don't remember there being any ash trays in the room.

I'll have to go back and look through my paperwork, but I'm pretty sure that our room number was 4021. We were on the 5th floor with a view of the MK. I would guess that room numbers 4421 and 4321 would offer the same.

When you book your room, you'll have access to the GF pre-planning department. They're the ones who can assist you with a specific room request.

We arrive at the Grand FLoridian RPC on Staurday morning.

I emailed the IPO staff yesterday to check on everything, asked for a copy of our itinerary to be emailed to me and requested a non-smoking room on the fourth floor (just a request).

I emailed my requests in a friendly and excited manner, explaining that my DH chose the hotel and that the kids were so looking forward to the trip.

My reply from them was just our itinerary attached to a blank email. No Hello, no looking forward to seeing you Saturday, no thanks for choosing us, nothing! I realize that IPO is seperate from the RPC staff but geez!

Does this indicate that they are super busy? My impression of this is not so good. I hope that this is not indicative of our upcoming vacation.

Reassurances please!

I just got my blank e-mail from CR. :rotfl2: I'd already sent them a heads up that I was just switching resorts and to hold onto my current reservations. I guess I need to e-mail them back to make sure they got that.

I know they get so many requests I'm sure they are on auto pilot for that. Not exactly warm fuzzies, but I assure you these guys are on top of their game. I've had a good response from their IPO on my other upcoming trip and if one of my requests has confused them they are quick to ask questions and over reserve rather than under reserve (if that makes any sense at all). It's the same IPO whether you are SL or RPC.

Where is Tammi? This is her favorite resort. ;) She can give you a better inside scoop than I could.
