Useful Concierge Information

My 180 window opened last saturday. I had given everything via e-mail to the cr IPO dept. about a month before. On Sunday night we wanted to add on another adr and since IPO was closed I called myself. After making the reservation, I asked the cast member to see if my other adr's were made by the IPO dept. They were... but for 3 instead of 4 and for the wrong nights. They were off by one day. I e-mailed them that night and on Monday night and left a message on Tuesday.... still have not heard back from them so I called disney dining on Tuesday night and corrected all of the adr's. Can you believe that I have not gotten and e-mail or call yet? Any opinions as what I should do. This is the first time we are dealing with the IPO dept.

Thanks in advance

This is my first time dealing with the IPO for the YC and they have been amazing. They sent me through an email itinerary showing the ADRs they had made, and asked me to check them and let them know if everything was OK. Everything was correct, although there are still a couple of ADRs still to make (Blue Zoo & Fultons) which do not fall within the Disney 180 + 10. I have been really pleased with the YC IPO :thumbsup2 I would send a reminder to your IPO and hopefully they will come back to you.

I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I'm interested in concierge at AKL for my b-day in Jan. DH has agreed to splurge a little and I'm trying to justify the extra $$$. We are going to do atleast one night for the Sunrise Safari. I know that concierge level gives us access to the lounge ( and the wonderful food) and help with planning (already have most of my ADR's planned). The size and location of the rooms (no guarantee on savanna view). Other than that what is the difference between the deluxe savanna and concierge? I can think of so many ways to use that extra (an extra spa treatment, maybe) but don't want to miss anything.
Thank you all in advance for your insight.

I went ahead with the gamble. But, I think my heart literally stopped beating for minute when the CM said "Now, you know with concierge you aren't guaranteed a savanna view. It can be either savannah or pool view." I just answered "I know, but will you request savanna". It still makes me anxious to think about it.

I received this from WDW AKL Concierge Dept:

Please call Central reservations at 407-934-7639.You have to be booked as a concierge before you will be our system.Out of all our rooms in concierge we have only 9 rooms that look into the pool .And they are booked as a smoking / optional rooms guest first. So unless you request smoking .You have good odds to have a savanna room.
Have A Wild Day

Love the description-- I have my fingers crossed for us both :goodvibes Your email from Juanita seems promising, though.

Hope you guys have the 'room luck' that we just had! Just returned last night from 3 days/2 nights AKL concierge (tacked onto 2 nights at BCV for SWW). We had requested Arusha Sav/Zebra trail (where I've been both previous stays) and had a wonderful 5th floor room on Kudu Trail overlooking Arusha Rock and the main savannah - perfect :thumbsup2 as DNeph (8) and I spent one afternoon/evening and all day yesterday until 3:30 departure enjoying the lodge. Sunrise Safari was wonderful ! Concierge (Juanita) took care of getting a few gifts I had requested for DNeph (even called me two days before our trip to tell me she could not get one of the gifts, but suggested a pair of kids binoculars instead, which were great to have!) In the lounge, Joey was also very helpful and discreetly delivered the gifts to our room while we were in the lounge snacking. We found the breakfasts and snacks quite adequate - on Sat DNeph ended up not wanting dinner after eating 2 of the large chicken strips - I enjoyed the cheeses/crackers, black eyed pea salad, fruit, chicken flatbreads - we stopped back up for dessert after all of the evening kid's activities ended and enjoyed the cookies, fruit tarts, and, of course, zebra domes!! I love AKL - and I cannot say enough about the wonderful young CMs from Africa who run all of the children's programs and man the viewing stations- Kenneth is truly a 'gem' (and we LOVED Thabo's firepit stories !!) This was my first concierge stay while at WDW and though it will not be my 'norm', it was absolutely perfect for this trip - I'm patiently waiting for AKL DVC ;) Thanks to all who posted concierge info! Enjoy!! :smooth:

I have a concierge room booked at CR for 7 nights Aug 19 it is on the 10th floor. Is this due to the new lounge being built? Anything I need to worry about due to the "temporary" nature of lounge.

Anybody been with this location?

I am traveling with a 10yr and 7yr old. I can book GF concierge for same price.

Thoughts? Advise?

Thought I would share what I have learned. They are currently booking the 10th floor Atrium club through September so nobody will be disappointed if construction takes longer then anticipated. Construction is expected to be completed around July 12th. The 12th floor will be the concierge floor with a club just like the 14th floor. The rooms on the 12th floor will all be "standard" rooms with Bay lake or MGK view the 14th floor is suites.

So new rooms and new lounge for us :dance3:

Thanks for sharing. The last I heard, they were anticipating being done by the end of August. Sounds like they are running ahead of schedule right now. I'm a huge GF fan, but I would definitely like to spend a night or two at the new Atrium club. Just to have an MK view from the room or new lounge is probably going to be amazing. Hope it works out for you.

I would also like to say if it's true that the 12th floor will be completed in July, then I will be happy because my family & I would get to see the new lounge when we check in on August 8th. If for some reason it's not then we won't be disapointed because we were on the 10th floor last December when the Atrium Club was there & we still get the great service that they provide, plus all the food along with the drinks & will be in renovated room for the 2nd time. Also we are going back to the Contemporary Atrium Club in December & logic says that by then the 12th floor should be open, as long as there is no major problem with the renovations.

If you have stayed on the Atrium Club before the renovations, the 10th floor is set up just like the 12th floor (before the opening of the new lounge). So there would be 4 tables on one side & a small single table with 2 chairs in front of the Cast Members desk & in the middle would be the cabinet set up where they put all the food for breakfast, the afternoon snacks, food in the evening & the drinks. So until the 12th floor is completed the 10th floor looks excatly like the 12th floor use to look like & the only difference is it being 2 floors down.

As you may have read on this thread, I debated AKL concierge due to view and then took the gamble.
I am SO glad I did. The planning staff has been awesome. We are staying Poly LVC and transferring to AKL half-way through. They picked up where the Poly left off and then some.
Poly IPO has been really good, don't get me wrong. They helped me a lot. But, wow, Don at AKL is fantastic. In a few hours he had everything set up for me to perfection. He was very careful to double check some things. Worked well with assimiliating AKL and Poly planning. He answered a whole bunch of questions.
I have been stressed over planning ADR's and other aspects of our trip this past week and have had some non-disney stressors that haven't made it easier. I IMMEDIATELY felt a weight lifted when I opened my nice, neat, perfect itinerary. This alone was worth the extra cost.
Just thought I'd share how pleased I am. :goodvibes

We too jumped right in after mlwear did with the view issue. Don has been been very responsive to date and has been helpful. Hopefully we will both get Savannah rooms as we hope for. :)

Ok please don't stone me here guys!!

I've had some really rubbish service from the concierge staff at CR and we haven't even arrived yet.
My latest saga is, I emailed them about 2 and half weeks ago as they hadn't applied my discount to my keys to the kingdom tour and Cindy's table and they still haven't replied, I sent another email on monday and still nothing and again yest. They booked the KTTK tour and charge my card before the 90 day mark and didn't let me know, so we spend 3 days calling reservations to find out what had been put on our credit card. We have had similar problem with ADR they made for us aswell.

Rant over, does anyone have an email or phone number so i can call and speak to someone else apart from the Concierge staff?

Thanks

I have never stayed concierge and never stayed CR for any room.
If I have a MK view and the new lounge is done with MK view is the Wishes Fire works cruise worth while. It sounds like CK is one of the best spots for MK fireworks or is the cruise that much more special?

I am having similar probelms with cr staff as well. I have been waiting for a phone call or e-mail back for almost two weeks.....

If you have not heard back from them within a couple of days of sending the email I would call them directly ( I believe IPO phone numbers are on page 1 of this thread.) That way you can talk to a person, and make sure everything is okay.

Good luck
