I had a question about some park hopper tickets I have. I have some brand new 5 day park hopper plus tickets that have never been used. They where purchased back in July by someone other then myself. They have the purchasers last name on the back of the tickets. Whats the chances I'm gonna run into issues trying to use this tickets?? I hate to get down to Florida to find out I cant use my tickets.

Hummm. Official policy is that once they are used they must be used by the same person, so I don't see a problem with regular tickets. However I'm confussed by their last name being on the tickets. Are you certain they are regular PH or PHP tickets? Do you know how/where they were purchased.

Apparently they where purchased through the disney resort hotel and the tickets where charged to the hotel account. Thats why the last names are on them.

The only way I can think of their being a problem is if they were purchased as part of a convention deal. I'm pretty certain those have extra rules that the regular tickest do nto have.

all the back of the tickets there is like a paragraph of fine print. one of the remarks is......"Ticket and ID required for entry; Ticket, ID and handstamp required for re-entry" This bothers me having someone elses last name on the ticket.

I think that is the standard disclamer on the back of all the tickets.

I called Disney the other day. The first woman I talked to said as long as they havent been used, I'm all set. I neglected to mention to her that there was someone elses last name on the tickets though. I called back 3 times after that and got very unconfident answers from the people I spoke to. They where like "oh I dont know about that". "Depends whose working the gate that day". " I would say you'd be alright without the last name, but with the last name I dont know". I couldnt really get a straight answer from anyone or a confident one. To be honest with you I purchased the tickets of ebay. They where purchased in July by the original purchaser. I actually got a pretty good price on them. There 100% legit, but they just have the original purchasers last name on them.

I wouldn't be surprised if they are used and have no days left on them. Many people have been taken by Ebay sells of tickets.

One DIS'er purchased tickets on Ebay. The sellers story was the tickets were purchased on their CC for friends who were to travel with them to WDW from Europe. The other family had to back out of the trip and wouldn't/couldn't pay for the tickets. Turns out the tickets had been used and no days were left on them.

Well I could see that happening however, I've been ebaying for about 4 years now and have bought and sold tons of stuff. I personally think its "not" very hard to see a shady deal. I've never been burnt on a deal. I talked to the guy a few times before I purchased the tickets and he was very friendly and catering to me. Good packaging and shipping as well. 100 % positive feedback. To top it all off there isnt a single mark on the tickets. They look like they just come off the press. To go five days with these tickets and not make a mark on them, seems unlikely. I understand what your saying though. I've already contacted the seller about the situation too and he was understanding of where I'm comin from. If I can get reassurance the tickets will work for me I just assume keep them. Otherwise I'm gonna get a refund. The biggest thing is I got a good deal on them.

If it were me, to avoid any embarrassment at the ticket stand, I would go to Guest Relations when you get to your first park. Tell them you have park hopper tix and you're not sure how many days are left. They can scan the tix and tell you. If there are restrictions on the ticket it would show up then on the scanner and you could address it there instead of in front of a long line of people. If you're really anxious to know, you could probably mail them down and have them mailed back. I'm sure they would do that if you send a SASE with the tix. Then you would know whether you need to ask for a refund. Nothing wrong with buying and selling tickets as long as they haven't been used so I wouldn't thing the name would mean anything. Good luck!

This is probably your best option.

Don't even think of doing this on your own. You will be opening an opportunity for a plethora of problems you really don't want or need, the least of which would be the name on your tickets not matching yours.

Nothing wrong with buying and selling tickets as long as they haven't been used so I wouldn't thing the name would mean anything.

The thing that has been overlooked here is that PHP's do not require any ID or finger scan to use them. All you do is insert them into the turnstile and go in. Your only concern isn't whether you will be able to use them, it's whether there's anything left on them to use. And that brings you back to the first paragraph here - go to Guest Relations and have the tickets scanned when you first get there.

I would be worried about those tickets if I was you. The first thing that my daughter's play 4 pass said was non-transferable. Same with AP and seasonal passes. I've only known Guest Services at the parks to place your names on tickets not the hotels.

If anyone has bought a park hopper at a resort do they put their your names on them?

Another way to find out is by calling a resort directly and asking if they do that.

good luck,
Shirley

When is your trip? I will be there Sunday Night and will be back early Tuesday, I will ask if you would like.

If the seller has agreed to give you a refund, I would go ahead and take them to Disney with you and if they don't have any days left on them ask for your refund. I can't imagine that they are going to ask for your ID at the turnstile. I'm sure people periodically try to put a used up ticket through the turnstile. If that happens just walk over to the Ticket Counter and buy new park hoppers. Then get your refund when you get home.

Have to say that I would be concerned just because there is an actual name on the back! I've bought all types of admission media and the only time I've had my name on one is my AP!! I've gotten passes at the resort, and at the Disney Store...never have I had my name on them.

Anyone know exactly what type of passes, other than APs, would have a name on it?? Just curious.

If they dont require an ID to use, then why does it say that on the back?

Because it says that on every piece of paper ticket stock that Disney uses. It doesn't mean that they check ID's on every ticket that goes through the turnstiles. Can you imagine how long it would take you to get into a park if they did that?

And there are many ways to have a name other than yours on the ticket - received as a gift, marriage, joint trip with others and one person bought all tickets, etc.

Ok, I was there. The CM I spoke with did not know if they put names on Park hoppers at the resort (yep, she was new). But we did buy my BF a FL play 4 pass. They put my name on it because the room and credit card were in my name. When we got to the park guess what? They gave us a hard time about the pass being in my name. We had to go to Guest Services and have it switched. I had to show them my AP, my ID and his ID before the CM would give him the pass in his name.

Let me ask this. Do the tickets have mickey, minnie, goofy, or donald on them? Or are they room keys? When we bought the FL play 4 pass it was print on a room key.

I totally understand where you are coming from, I'd be nervous too, but here's the thing though...if the tickets are UNUSED totally then I would think it wouldn't matter whose name is on the back? You could say a family member or close friend bought them for you as a gift no? I know they are non-transferrable, but it says on the ticket "Must be Used by the same person on any and all days." It doesn't say "Must be used by the same person who bought them." So I'm almost positive the non-transferrable means only once they have been used. I mean, what if someone buys a Hopper pass for an upcoming trip and then for whatever reason can't go, it would seem to me they could do whatever they want with the ticket or give it to whomever they want as long as they haven't already used part of it. It is strange about the names on the back though, I've never heard of that on regular Hoppers. Where are the names printed?

I believe that if you buy tickets on Disney property, your name is printed on the ticket.

My mother-in-law bought a one day ticket, and her name was on the back.

I'm not sure why it was there - to prevent fraud, or to intimidate would-be scam artists, but I've seen it there.
