(sorry if this code has already been mentioned)

I called Disney yesterday because I found in my deleted email a PIN code. I didn't even notice it before because it was at the very bottom of an email that reminded me that I had a reservation saved on the Disney website. Come to find out it was just for 10%. Not that exciting... but she mentioned that my husband had a pin attached to his name. She said it was a better one. WOOHOO. (still wondering why no one mentioned either PIN codes the other 4 times I called??) So she switched me over to another department that was handling these codes. They told me it was a test run PIN that was sent out randomly to see how people might shop for vacations. Had to be paid in full. I told them that I was interested in a 1 bedroom or suite and told me that Kidani villas and Boardwalk were both available. Also told me that I could not put a hold on the room to make up my mind. The pressure was on.... I told them I would call back in a few so I could talk it over with my husband. We decided to go with the Boardwalk for ease of getting to/from Epcot etc (we have 2 little ones traveling with us) Plus we added on a 6 night and park hopper because the room at Boardwalk was about 300 cheaper. So they told me that if I needed to cancel, I would would not lose my money, it would be "banked" for a future visit. Is that what normally happens?? Anyways, we are going October 23rd. I am pretty darn excited. To give you an idea of the savings we are getting. I priced out the same vacation online and we are saving about $1200. I priced out the same vacation arriving in September(to get the free dining deal) and this PIN deal still comes out to be about $300 cheaper than that. :woohoo: Because I am new to all of this, I am not sure this is the best best deal .. but I think I did pretty good. I was "this" close to booking the Coronado Jr. Suite for $300 more. This way I get a deluxe for cheaper than moderate. What do ya'll think??? Anyone else get this?

That's big news. There has been much discussion about the pay-in-full discount for Value resorts... This is the first I've seen anyone mention a similar PIN for Deluxe resorts.

Anybody else get this PIN for deluxe?

Sounds like a great deal! I like the fact that if you cancle they will bank your money for a future trip. In the other pay upfront pin code if you cancle you lose everything.

I have been wondering about this pin because on mine we didn't know we had it at first when I called to ask about pins. She then told me we had this one where you have to pay up front for it. But a lot of people are saying that you have to go with the resort that they give you once you take the deal. I had asked specifically about POP and they let me price that out. So I am not sure what is going on with these pins!! :confused3

That is not too bad if you can cancel and bank the money towards another vacation later on

I thought it was good too. I am thinking it was about a 40% off room rate :)
I never got the actual breakdown but that seems about right. WOOHOO! I am so glad I asked about it. I wonder why I never received an email or letter referencing this PIN?
Maybe it is a marketing ploy when you call??

So, it sounds like Disney has finally caught onto people that book waiting for a discount and then cancel when they don't get what they want or need. I've heard of people making multiple reservations just so they won't loose their room waiting for a discount. Then Disney loosing all the revenue they counted on by having a reservation in the system. May be the only way we will see discounts or PIN codes in the future.

I called about a Pin today but it wasn't quite as exciting as I was hoping for. But there were discounts offered on Moderate and Deluxe, not just Value as the original email implied. The email referenced both Lower Price or More Freedom offers. The lower price one being pay in full in advance and no changes once paid. I was not doing that. It was about a $500 savings off regular room rates of $1,700+ for a 4 night stay in a Garden Wing Room at the Contemporary. If I wanted the More Freedom price, it was only a 10% discount or so. Not too enticing. I'm still holding out for a promo....
