Used chat for a room request.

You just have to assume they do. Requests are not guaranteed so I don’t think not getting it means it was never done.

I've done room requests through chat and phone. Sometimes I'll ask what is written currently, and I get a response that there aren't any notes. I do wish there was a way to verify...

What is the difference between chatting (twice, apparently) with MS to put in notes, and putting them in yourself in MDE when you check in?

You can put notes into MDE? Only choice in MDE for BCV is near elevator for room requests.

What other requests are there that guest services needs to know before you arrive other than room location? Extra towels, things like that I guess?

Upper Floor....Water View.....Not on Floor 1......Room 6553. The options are endless. Doesn't mean you'll get the request though.

MDE choices are very limited and in some cases there are no options for a resort (Bay Lake Tower has nothing in MDE).

I want to request a refurbished room on the 4 or 5 th floor. Since those are the only one’s currently done.
MDE only has one choice - near elevator

I see, if you want a specific floor or something more granular then that makes sense.

Just be aware that is a request a lot of people are putting in.

I was there in March and chatting with the CM and that is what he said and that people are disappointed when they find out they can’t do it for everyone who wants them.

Yep
We have vacationed over 25 times to DW. Maybe received 1/4 of room requests. We go with the flow either way . I figure it doesn’t hurt to ask 🤷‍♀️.
The last 3 vacations our room was ready at 10am at BCV, which was shocking. We never expect to get a room early, we always plan to drop our stuff at bell services and head straight to a park. 😃

I totally get why they can't fulfill that for everyone, we always hope for the best on requests and roll with it if we don't get it. I mean we're at a Deluxe WDW resort, life is pretty good either way amirite?

I've always wondered how it's determined who gets it and who doesn't, though. I'd like to think in order of when the requests were made, but no way it's that simple. Their system probably auto-assigns rooms, unless the front desk overrides it based on requests. So sometimes when it's super busy, does that person always take the time to consider requests? Probably not.

You talk to a lot of CMs, so maybe you have some insight into this esoteric question that probably nobody but me would care about 8-)

It is not based on order of request..well, that’s what I was told..it’s based on the factors more of how it all fits together with check in and check out.

I have know idea if this is still true,,,take it for what it is worth…but when BLT was first open, the even numbered rooms , north end, for LV was requested by 90% of guests per w a CM at the front desk told me…because of it, it was simply not looked at until later in the process and many Weren’t until day of and they moved guests around.

Basically, those were the first rooms that got filled when assigning as they assumed whomever got them Probcbly and the request.

I am sure that they process is better these days…but IMO, I am not a fan of requests and wish they didn’t take them, unless they are for medical reasons.

Interesting... why is that? I get why they would want to do it, in the spirit of doing everything they can to make the stay "magical". But in today's society rife with entitlement, I can see why it would be problematic as well.

I have always emailed MS ,this time I did chat with MS. Sometimes you win sometimes you lose.

I just wish it was based on first available vs requests. I just have seen way too many people complaining at the resort..and elsewhere.. even with the “it’s not guaranteed “.
