Here is my question next Oct we want to book a grand villa, we are banking 200 this year (dec uy) next year we will borrow from '11. Can we still get a grand villa in Oct '10 and get that years points two months earlier If our '10 points won't be available until Dec? Hope I haven't confused you because I've already confused myself!!!!!!!!

December use years can be confusing.

You want a GV in October 2010, you will be within your Dec 2009 Use year. For an Oct 2010 reservation, you could use Dec 2008 bank points, Dec 2009 (current year) points and borrow Dec 2010 points.

2011 UY points wouldn't be available to borrow for this reservation;
borrowed 2011 UY points would have to be used for a trip happening between
Dec 1 2010 and Nov 30 2011.

If you need more points a transfer from an OKW owner (with right UY) can give you ability to book the GV at 11 month window.

Having a Dec UY can be tough to keep track of because most of your travel falls in a different calendar year than your UY.

One of the things that helped me most when I became a member was simply first figuring out what UY my trip happens. Then I know I can use "banked" points from the previous UY, current UY points, and then borrowed points from the next UY.

In your case, your Oct 2010 reservation happens in your 09 UY. So, you can use banked Dec UY 08 points, Dec UY 09 points (good until Nov. 30th, 2010) and points borrowed from Dec UY 10.

You don't have to be in the UY to book a vacation with points. As long as the points will be available at the time of travel (not when you call), you can book any vacation 11 months out at your home resort and then 7 months out at the rest.
