Use year for BCV - Feb 2004???

I'm confused! If I become a DVC member now, but my use year is established as February - I assume I don't have any points available to me until Feb 2004, correct? Or, do I get use of them right away and have to use the 2003 points up by Jan 31, 2004?

Is the use year (month) something that I can choose, or is that set by Disney for me?

Glad to see you again.

I think I can answer this:

If you have a Feb. use year, you will have all of 2/03's points NOW (you cans start making reservation as soon as you OK on the purchase, even before you close), unless you decide to sell back the points for the $10 MB. You can bank 100% of them by 7/31/03. If you bank them, then they will be available for 2/1/04-1/31/05. Or you bank a portion of them at later dates (not sure the exact dates).

If you choose the MB, you can still borrow your 2/04 points to be used this year after you close.

You can also request a different use year based on what you would prefer.

BTW, Byron sent me really nice postcards (I guess you contacted him) with each DVC resort on it. Thanks so much.

You could probably get Feb, March, April or June (there is no May, July, Nov or Jan). They usually don't go back past the 100% deadline for new members, December's 100% was 5/31/03.

What is the best source of written information (web, brochures, etc. ) on the intracacies of use year, banking, borrowing, etc.

Or, should I just go ahead, call the 800 #, hook up with a guide and start firing questions!
