Use year confusion

My Use year is September. I’m always confused about the booking process when I need to borrow from the following year. Here is my scenario:

I want to book a trip for July 2026. I have 0 points for 2024; 31 points for 2025; 201 for 2026: and 201 for 2027

How many points can I use to book the July 2026 trip. I know I’ll have to borrow. I hope someone can help me!! Thanks.

July 2026 occurs during your September 2025 use year.

This means you can use any banked points from 2024 (0) whatever is left of your 2025 allotment (31) and can borrow from 2026 (201). This gives you a maximum of 234 points. If you are booking at 7 months you could also buy 24 One Time Use Points (OTUP) to bring your total to 258.

We have a September UY too, and @eticketplease is exactly correct.

If you need more than 234 points, book what you can at 11 months, then at 7 months, if available, call MS to buy the OTUP and book the additional nights. If MMB is still available (7 months out from a July 2026 trip is February 2026, and we don't know what MMB will look like in 2026), consider paying the $99 to buy it, so that the OTUP are half price.
