Use unneeded room to get express pass? Boondock RV in parking garage?

We just found out yesterday DH can get 3 weeks vacation this year to RV to orlando. The drawback is we have to leave May 15th. Yes, in two weeks. You guys have given me so much info in the hours I have been reading posts. Thanks :surfweb:

My question is this. The express pass at universal seems to be the way to go. Its costs between $80-$200 for our family of four and can only be used once per ride. But if I book in park hotel for one night we get express passes for both the check-in and check-out day that can be used as many times as we want on each ride. Hotel runs $249 rack rate. Might be some discount code somewhere, but I haven't checked yet.

Has anyone tried it? Fort Wilderness will only let me book 14 nights. I could park the RV in the parking garage at universal for $20. Is there a flaw in my logic? I have been up since the wee hours planning so....

Is the RV parking area enclosed or covered? Anyone ever try to boondock there? After booking a room of course?

We only have 16 days total in orlando. I was thinking 10 at DW and the other 6 at universal, seaworld, busch gardens, kennedy. The flex plus ticket seems to cover all those except kennedy so I guess thats what we'll do.

Thanks for the helpfulness. I'm not sure but maybe its better if I can't spend to much time worrying about planning since we will leave in 13 days. Did I mention the RV is still winterized from the fall and won't even have time for an off site dry run. LOL

I posted this on the FW thread and now realize this is where it belongs.

Plenty of people book a room for one night even if they aren't using the room at all.
It gives you much more freedom to ride and also you can enjoy the pools, etc. for two days.

We've never parked an RV in the parking garage, & I don't know what boon docking is, but we have parked an RV in RPR's parking lot. We usually stay at HRH, but booked RPR, because they having a lot more parking. They told us to park in the convention parking lot. The walk from there isn't bad, if you walk through the convention center. We left the RV parked there 5 nights, while we stayed at RPR.

book the on site hotel room now.
parry hotter will be having a soft opening later and you need to be assured you have a room on site in advance.

many homies book the hotel room and never step foot in it.
never a problem.

if you book one night, you do get the free express line usage unlimited by showing your hotel room keys.

it will be cheaper for you to do that instead of purchasing 4 EPP's for the family.

you can check in at 7 am and be issued the hotel keys then.
you will be called when your room is ready.

if you have the UO APH or AAA, you can book with that for a discount on the room.

AAA will allow you 10% of food and merch in the parks.
just show them your card when you order or buy.

Robert, I didn't know about that coupon. That's awesome! Thanks for sharing the link. :cool1:
