Use the safe in your room...

When I hit the pool at CBR, I left my wallet in the room two days in March and skipped the safe routine while the room was being serviced.

Not blaming anybody, but almost every card in my wallet was photo'd including DL information.

For the past weeks have been handling fraudulent charges and getting new cards. There has been a distinctive pattern which points back to WDW and CBR which I shouldn't disclose publicly. Also an unusual episode around the same time points to CBR.

The only time I ever didn't have my wallet in my possession was those two days.

It is great to be trusting but don't let your guard down at the resorts.

Not a hundred percent sure about what happened, but as I said a pattern has been emerging...

that sucks!! I know I try to use the safe too but sometimes you just think its Disney its safe!! are you going to report it to Disney? I would!

This is horrible as they just had or found out about the housekeeper from AoA last week. Hoping you report this and disney takes care of it for you! Thanks for posting I'm staying at CBR in a month with my sister here's to using the safe and locking anything else in the suitcases for the day.

sorry to hear it OP and a lesson to pass on to others who have to remember to be "street wise" everywhere I did quote and bold above poster because what do you expect Disney to do ?

What about AoA housekeeping? I have relatives visiting their soon, and just want to give them heads up.

a housekeeper was arrested for theft ONE housekeeper I have stayed many many times, over decades in motels/hotels on property & off there is no reason for concern or "heads up" it was an incident & an arrest You just have to use common sense & safety, don't leave things out, don't leave room to visit ice machine area and leave door propped open with that latch thing, don't even leave curtains open so passerbys can see in and see your things

Why WOULDN'T they report it to Disney? If it's known which days the problem occurred, it would be easy enough to see who serviced the room on those days. Even if they don't choose to confront the service people, it's a heads-up for them. I'm sure Disney ( or any other company that depends on customer loyalty) doesn't want issues like this. If they aren't made aware of a problem, they can't rectify it.

That is all it would be, is a heads-up. There is no way to prove anything was stolen. Not that I doubt the OP at all, but there are some not so nice people would would make something up if Disney went around replacing stolen items.

I will never understand knowing you will have total strangers in your room and leaving your valuables out. It is too trusting at best, and reckless at worst.

Good to know it was not a major problem. Of course you must take precautions when on vacation, even at Disney.

Why? Because it happened in March this is July very hard to prove where. how, when etc anything was taken I personally would let the CC company do the homework to investigate all of that

All the housekeeping staff have keys to all the rooms. Don't think they would steal from a room they were SCHEDULED to clean...to easy to get caught, so I don't think having the records would help.

I definitely don't see any problem in letting Disney know. If they are getting numerous reports it may help them determine the cause of the problems.

I just wouldn't call them expecting them to do anything for me. I'd call them in hopes that it might possibly help them.

All though it is Disney you can't let your guard down. Look they caught a desk clerk who worked at both SSR and OKW was skimming credit card numbers.

So theft at Disney can and will occur if you are not careful.
