I'm ready to send my taxes via the H&R Block Deluxe software, which offers an additional 10% off in e-gift cards if you choose to receive these in lieu of a portion of your refund. Target e-gift cards are an option. If I get these, I believe I can't get the additional 5% Redcard discount when I use them to buy Disney gift cards. I'm just wondering if its worth the extra 5% discount for the hassle of trying to buy Disney gift cards (both in store and online) with a Target e-gift card? Also, how good is H&R Block at getting the gift card balance to you quickly and correctly (via email I believe)? I still have my entire trip balance to pay for, so I can save a few hundred bucks if this is a minimal hassle. I'm just afraid that if anything goes wrong, I now have the money I was going to use for my trip tied up in H&R Block Bank limbo. The other option is I could just get the refund via direct deposit and buy the Disney gift cards with my Redcard at a 5% savings at the store.

We talked about this both last year and this year. Opted not to do it. While we'd love the 10% extra bonus, none of the choices are ones we shop at enough for us choose them, even Target. If they had Amazon, we'd probably choose to take our whole refund and get the extra 10% from H&R Block.

I'd also be afraid that your money would be trapped with Target and not be able to use it like you want. Good luck deciding.

If the refund is the amount you need to finish your Disney payments I would do it - 10% is pretty good. Can you split it? We did TurboTax and they let us choose how much to put in a gc and how much to direct deposit.

TurboTax has the Amazon bonus. We did half f our refund on Amazon gc and got it the same day we got the direct deposit for the other half.

We did this for this year and it worked out great. I had no problem using the e-gift card to buy the a Disney cards at Target. We did split our refund too - part e-gift card, part direct deposit to our checking account

Same here. We took a portion of the refund and bought target gift cards, the rest to our bank account. Got the money pretty quickly and the e-gift cards. Would definitely do it again.
