I recd my pkt, from the travel agent and didn't see any tickets (air) and called. I was told that I have a voucher and that should be taken to the gate and we'll be fine. OK, I thought it made sense. After looking through my pkt, I don't see any "voucher", I have a hotel voucher, ME tags, luggage tags and everything else...no air voucher. Do I need something or do I just get it at the tkt counter?

You probably have a E(electronic)-ticket. You can NOT go directly to the gate, you need to obtain your boarding pass first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check in curbside (may be a charge for this, plus tip, depending on the airline and/or airport) or at the counter inside the terminal. This is where you check your luggage, too. You need to show a government-issued ID, no matter how you check in.
Proceed with your boarding pass and your ID to/through security. You will not be permitted beyond that point with just a voucher, even if you had one. You gotta have the boarding pass.

ETA: I went back and forth on whether to post the following and finally decided I should... Please consider using a different Travel Agent in the future. I'm EXTREMELY uncomfortable hearing that a supposed travel professional would tell you you can go directly to the gate using a voucher. In fact, I'm so uncomfortable with the response you got that I'd suggest calling US Airways now to make sure you HAVE a reservation, and that it's the itinerary you thought.

I agree with you. Airlines don't give "vouchers" they give electronic ticket receipts. Do you have anything with a confirmation number and flight numbers on it? If not call your TA and tell him/her that you want the USAir Confirmation number and flight info. (And then next time find a TA with a clue!)

ok, here is what I was told...I actually took my packet to the agent. I have an itinerary that was printed that has our information...flight #'s, hotel, components of package (ie dining)....that's all I have. When we get to PHL, we go to a tv screen of sorts and type in our information and boarding passes will "spit out".....we then can proceed to board. The paper I have hasn't any confirmation #'s or anything. It is from WDT.....

Does this seem right? We've never flown with anything other than a regular tkt

Yep sounds about right. you will need to go to the counter to check the luggage .

Yeah, what cynic957 (nice name, by the way ;)) said!!! You will need to swipe a credit or debit card belonging to the ticket purchaser at the machine, aka self-check kiosk. Don't be alarmed, your card will NOT be charged and no information will be stored - it's JUST to identify that you're the entitled person. If you have luggage to check, the screen will give you instructions.

If you're flying out of PHL, you can do curbside baggage check. The porter will ask for your driver's license, and he will ask where you are flying to. If you know your flight #, you can tell him at that time, but he will look it up if you don't have it handy. He will print out your boarding passes, tag your luggage and take your luggage at that time. Remember to give him a nice tip. :thumbsup2 Remember to keep your driver's license and boarding pass out for the security checkpoint.

thanks everyone......

Here is the latest scoop - I called USAir, as I had a question on something else - anyway, they gave me my confirmation #, so now have that. I was then told that I can print the boarding passes at home. Therefore, saving the time at the kiosk or at curbside check in. It would be so much easier if the TA had sent along some instructions - I'm sure many have not flown with an e-ticket.

Not sure if it will save you much time. If you have luggage to check you will still have to wait on either the line for the skycap, which can be quite long, or the line inside the terminal.

I dont like to print my boarding passes, I have to check my baggage anyway. It just cost me ink from my printer when I do that.( cheesy I know but it does take up my ink) It takes the airline a minute if that to get me my boarding passes.

Yeah, but I had a case not too long ago where all the kiosks went down and weren't processing information. Chaos! Having my boarding pass already printed out totally saved me. I can't remember if I was checking a bag or not though, I think not.

You can always go to the check in counter...but I am sure they would be busy just as well. of course if you are just carrying on...I would probably print in advance

Did I understand that you made your reservations thru WDT (Walt Disney Travel?) Did they say if USAirways was a partipating ME airline? It doesn't matter getting to Disneyworld, but if they are, it means they will check in your luggage and give you your boarding passes at the resort for your flight home.
There was a blurb in May in the Orlando Sentinel that said they were the 11th airline to add this service, but they are not officially listed anywhere that I can see.

I am also flying USAirways and would love to know others experiences about ME and getting boarding passes at the resort for USAirways for the flight out of MCO.

bump.. anyone fly USAirways lately? Would they check you in for your return flight at the resort lobby?

I did the check in for our return home via USAir at POP on Wednesday. Do not go to the line for ME, go to the concierge. Give them your confirmation # and airline and they will print out your boarding pass for you.

Yeah, that's a great help! I've done that several times at the Dis Hotels. US Air hasn't appeared on this site yet as a participating airline, so I guess I'll have to deal with my own bags on the return. I'll know more starting in about 9 days!!!!!
