USAir - check your flights!

I saw over the weekend on the news that they are grounding 10 737's and are cutting some flights. I've been watching rates for May and was doing my usual Orbitz check (they are good for searching, I don't buy there). They had 3 flights on May 7th in the morning to MCO - 7:30, 10:00 & 11:45, all still had a few seats. When I checked tonight, 10:00 & 11:45 were gone and 7:30 is soldout per USAir's website! The next choice is 3:35pm. Luckily I checked AirTran and their's dropped from $249 when I checked it a couple days ago to $201, so I bought them. Just when I was starting to get comfortable with USAir...

They announced that they would have 7x daily (r/t) PIT-MCO starting in May, and it was in the schedule for a while, but now they are back to 5x daily (on the PIT-MCO route, 2x are opperated by US Express/MidAtlantic). Wonder if SWA and AirTran will add some more flights?

Did you also see that the FLL focus city is having flights reduced? I also saw that PHL & CLT are loosing a few frequencies to Florida cities.

I also saw that AirTran changed their flight times. I thought the 9AM MCO-PIT flight was early, now it is 8:15AM! That really stinks! We took a US 8:15AM flight one time, and we really had to get up early for that!

I hear ya on the 8:15 flight. We are from north of Pittsburgh and it takes us a solid 1 1/4 - 1 1/2 hours to get to the Globe Lot itself. I can just see me trying to drag my three boys out of bed at 4:30 in the morning to leave. Yikes! I've been debating doing a park, sleep and fly thing but not sure - never did that before.

For Saturday May 7th there are only 3 non-stops PIT/MCO - 7:35 am, 3:35pm, 8:40pm, same on Friday May 6th.

Update - I just checked the schedule and the 10:00am and 11:45am to MCO are back on the schedule. Still glad I booked Air Tran.
