I just wanted to let everyone know that we had to change our tickets for our trip since my husband is in the hospital. USAir originally charged me $200 to change the tickets, so I wrote to customer service and enclosed a note from the doctor, so they then refunded my change fee. I just thought this might be helpful is someone else runs into this situation.

Consider yourself lucky. 3.5 years ago, we had to cancel because I was going into the hospital. They said their "old" policy was such that if you produced a Dr.'s note, then they wouldn't charge. However, at that time, they insisted they no longer did so. Maybe they changed back to the old policy!
