USAF race in September

I am thinking about signing up for the USAF half in september and I wanted to see what other people had to say about it. If you ran it before, what are your thoughts? DH and I will be doing this one. Haven't done it before but others spoke to someone who has and they enjoy it. Not real big on spectators since it is on the base but well run. Bling is neat and it is different plus DH is big airplane buff so works out.

Funny that this showed up today.

Last night was I presented with the opportunity to join a team to run the Bourbon Trail 200 mile relay in October. I needed to decide by this morning.

The final decision was to pass and instead run the AF marathon with my son.

He is stationed at Grand Forks AFB and this will be his first marathon, assuming he keeps his training up. I'm looking forward to running it with him.

I have heard good reports on this race. It is not a large race and not many spectators, but well organized and a nice course.

This is a race on my tour of Ohio list. I was going to do it this year but am doing the RnR Va Beach instead. I can't speak for the course but the weather that time of year up here is nice, maybe a little warm because Dayton isn't around water, but nice.

I ran the USAF Marathon last year. As noted, the crowd support can be a bit erratic, but the bling was very nice, and it started last year with a F-22 flyover. I'll see if I can dig up a race report or anything.

(I won't be running it this year, but only because it is too close to some other races. I plan on going back and doing it again someday.)
