USA Visa How Long??

Lol Believe me theres no way they ll rush me through it tells you on the website not to make plans until visa is issued,So Im gonna have to do a lot of praying!
Phil My record here is wiped clean but in US law it never is they want to know everything when my first visa was issued in 1989 I told them about it then so i cant say now i havnt got a conviction with a wife and 2 kids i want to do it properly so thats why ive informed them and ive had to track down court papers which is a bit of a laugh fruit valued a t £1.30 22 years ago which actually was my mate but I was with him! I actually told him not to nick it then a police car appeared!
Whichever way I need a visa which could be 5 months off....

Ive got forms through the post today from american Embassey,You can get visas back 5 days after your appointment or in some cases longer for checking,etc,Hopefully as Im presenting all info I could be former I think the 12 week thing is the max wait,Not min wait Beth,This is according to these forms!
So theres a little light at end of tunnel,If I do have to wait 12 weeks Im prepared for that and Ill go next year I might lose my deposit but Ill get over that even tho it is over £400
What is at the back of my mind is lifetime exclusion fron The USA That would seriously upset me..

So pleased to hear the good news. Don't worry you WILL get your visa and the possibllity of lifetime exclusion for a juvenile prank is absolute ZERO. Just ensure they know your departure dates at your interview. Fingers crossed that you get the visa in time.

Hi Lol,
Thanks for the words of encouragement It was a little glimpse of positivity,but im prepared for the worst anyway IE a trip next year,I know reallisticaly a lifetime ban is no chance but I worry a lot about stuff,
I also think having a previous visa issued and travelling 3 times without incident must go in my favour,What do you think?
Anyway the rest of Summer is going to drag,But what will be will be,

Just spoken again to a friend in the travel industry and he says -(this is his statement not mine) - that America is bringing in these new visa rules to protect the citizens of their country - (can't say the same about our lot can we - my statement not his!) - in future they will not allow anybody into the country with a history of violence or drug offences, although anyone refused entry can appeal with mitigating circumstances etc. Any other criminal offender must have a visa to be allowed entry, and in the majority of cases a visa will be issued but certain other offences (burglary for one) may be refused entry depending on the time since the last offence.

In his opinion your only offence is so minor that it will be disregarded as it happened as a juvenile so many years ago (he knows of several people with worse offences than yours who have been granted visas recently). Also having been granted a previous visa is in your favour, although anyone with a lapsed visa does not have the automatic right to a new visa with the new laws put into place.

Also, good news, invariably with all relevant information (in original form NOT photocopies) present at your interview a visa should be in your possession within 14 days.

IMO don't worry and even in the unlikely event you don't make Xmas you will have a good holiday in the New Year.

With regard to visa waiver forms the address and telephone number of your travel firm in Florida (Virgin etc) will suffice for those who have villa's rented etc. The information will be printed on your booking confirmation form.

Hi Lol Your a Gent for getting all that info,Thanks a lot things seem a lot better today,I just have to keep everything crossed!!
The photocopy thing puzzles me Official court records can not be removed,Their in huge volumes of 6 months You cant even look into them because of info of other individuals,Like my case is on a page shared with about 12 others but their details are blanked out by the records clerk,plus she stamped and officiated the rear of documents,So I hope their OK!!

Reading all this has made me think!!! I had a fixed penalty speeding fine around 10 years ago, will this affect my entry in to the US???

Work collegue also worried as her husband got a conditional discharge in the sixties for a minor drug related problem, will she need to get her husband to get a visa????

rain Im pretty sure you dont need one for speeding,only motor offences is if an accident and you injured someone,However your friends husband does need one,Any offence at any time counts as in mine being 22 years old and very minor,However serious offences like Violence,Drugs etc is what they want to know about sorry about this news but Im going trough all the worry too

I'm a travel agent and let me tell you, we are getting next to no information from the US Embassy which is infuriating!!

My friend Will had to get a visa for his trip to Vegas as he had been arrested. He went down to London for his appointment, they didn't ask him anything and he got his visa straight away.
