we are curently staying in wdw, here for a month! we have bought pre pay mobiles x 2 and have discovered that if you dont use them for 30 consecutive days then they become useless, rather than just discard them at the end of our trip does anyone want them? they will be available after the 9th sept and we can arrange for them to be left at any disney hotel front desk for you to collect. hope they can be usefull to someone - Cat

Hi,
We have been discussing how we can keep in touch when our party of 5 splits up in the parks we were thinking of walkie talkies, so your generous offer would just be perfect !
We arrive at POFQ on Sept 9th, our tickets arrived this morning and I'm sooo excited.
Our surname is Eagles.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

I think I should add that we're a party of adults, myself and DH plus DS26
DS22 and DSF 21.
We are celebrating our 40th anniversary at the world and our sons are coming along too ( plus our son's fiancee) so we're all pretty excited.

I think it's a great idea to sprinkle a little pixie dust !

Out of interest - how much were the PAYG mobiles.

We may get some when we go in October - we are a party of 4 adults and three teens -(2 families) just interested in the cost.

Thanks

Hi CatlinUK
I did try to reply to your PM but my post count isn't high enough.
We are due to land on the 9th at 5pm local time, after picking up our car and a quick stop at Walmart we hope to arrive at POFQ around 7.30ish.
We can easily pop back to Walmart during our trip to buy extra credit when needed.

Thank you so much for making us feel that our holiday has started two weeks early by sprinkling a little pixie dust !!

We leave POFQ on Sept 23rd and would love to leave them at any Disney Resort for another family to use.

Is anyone travelling out then ??

This is such a nice thread and a perfect example of why I love the Dis so much :) if the mobile phone exchange is still going by Feb 4th I would love to be able to use these phones and then leave them for another family when we go.

the phones were the cheapest ones in walmart - around $50 for two phones with $15 credit on each one, each call costs 10c and texts 20c each. they are very simple to use we are using them for us calls only not sure if they could be used for phoning home. they have made a huge difference to our stay our tenagers have gone to the parks on there own and been able to get up late when we go to the parks early and know they can get in touch to join us. much better than walkie talkies i think.

FYI: You can get inexpensive Pay As You Go phones from WalMart or Target - Tracfone is usually the cheapest. $14.99/phone is the cheapest you can get for Tracfone. Or Net10.
