Is it possible to do both US and IOA in one day? We will be at the HRH and can use FOTL access. We are going to be there early May.

With FOTL it is possible but not recommended. There's too much to see and do at both parks to try and rush. Just relax and take your time. :thumbsup2

Exactly! You're going to want to ride your favourites several times.

Remember your 1 night stay give you 2 days FOTL access.

Our flight doesn't arrive until 6:30pm, and the posted hours have the parks closing at 7pm that night. So, we really won't be able to use 2 days of FOTL. Do you think these hours may be extended? 7pm seems awefully early for closing time to me.

you can do it. get there early and blow through the first five or so attractions. then use fotl, and you will finish in plenty of time.

The hours will probably not be extended. The park hours are set based on the anticipated crowds for that day and between Spring Break and Memorial Day it's pretty quiet.

I did this. It is possible. I was able to do all of the major attractions at both parks between eleven o'clock and five o'clock.

We went in January (so a pretty slow time) and did not have FOTL.

We arrived at US right at opening and did all of the rides, including stuff I couldn't care less about like Jimmy Neutron and Shrek. We also were able to do the Mummy and MIB 3-4 times each. We did not get to do Disater as it wasn't open yet, and wouldn't open until the afternoon.

Then we walked over to IOA and had lunch. The weather turned really crappy and lightning closed pretty much every ride for almost 3 hours. We did eventually get to ride Hulk (1 time), the Dragons (about 4 times each), Spiderman (3 times), the Spin-y ride (X-Force or something), and Cat in the Hat. Due to the rain, and the fact we hate water rides, we didn't do JP or the other 2 water rides, but we totally could have had time to. I think we left a good 1.5 hours before park closing.

That being said, we had been to IOA many times before (US was new to us), so we didn't feel the need to explore every nook and crany. On a slow day (or with FOTL), you could do both, no problem!

You can do the major attractions from both parks. It isn't the best way to do it to get a good feel for the parks but you can blow through a bunch.

I guess its possible but you may not have that much fun as if you are relaxed with the time..........

but

that is better than 0 days at universal:thumbsup2
