On our next trip to the world, DH insists on a visit to US and/or IOA. I'm wondering which of the two parks would be the best one if we could only do one park. It will be me, DH, DS17, DD12. DH loves coasters, the rest of us...not so much. Also, I noticed the parks close at 6, so what would be the best "bang for the buck"? And, is it realistic to do most of the park in one day? I really have no concept of the size relative to MK, for example. Thanks in advance for your input!

I would say if you only had one day to get a 2 park pass and try for all the must sees. I will probably get flamed, but I think there is a good chance you could do it if you pick your rides wisely. That way, maybe DH could get a couple coasters in while the rest of you enjoys the scenery or smaller rides at IA. However, if you have the time and budget for it, I'd go for two days and take it a little more easy.

Both parks have something for everyone. What time of the year are you planning on going? They sell a one day two park pass that would let you do both parks in one day. If you really only want to do just one park, I suggest take a look at the Universal website and see what attractions in each park interest you and your family and decide from there.

Lack of time is the reason I was considering just one park/one day...I hadn't even thought about 2 parks in one day. Our trip (hopefully) will be in November, so the parks would close at 6. I will definitely check out the list of attractions to get a better feel for our preferences. We won't be staying onsite, so what about the lines? How big of an impact in late November?
