US Immigration pre-clearance in Manchester coming soon

Just thought I'd pass on a rumour discussed with a border agent in Dublin this summer. We were chatting away as we got a friendly one for a change and she asked where we were from as we didn't sound Irish (despite the passports in front of her!) and when we said Manchester she said she was hoping to get transferred there when the Manchester pre-clearance opened!

I can't find any concrete press release other than Heathrow and Manchester being on a "possibles" short list last year but she seemed pretty positive it was on it's way!

Here's hoping they can squeeze it in at Gatwick.
