My sister & I are planning a trip to California in December. We went with the whole family to US Orlando in June. (though it was 95 degrees, we loved it)

Should we plan on going to US Hollywood or Six Flags instead?

Here is what we did at US Orlando:
Men In Black
Jaws
Earthquake
Twister
Terminator
Mummy
ET
Shrek 4D
Horror Make-up show

Here's what we'd be interest in at US Hollywood
Animal Actors
Shrek 4D
Terminator
Backdraft
Waterworld
ROTM
Studios Tour
Jurassic Park (though we did this at IOA in June)

What we are really interested in is the Studios Tour and maybe the VIP tour. But am I going to feel like I'm paying a bunch of money to do the same thing again? Plus we're likely going to take the Warner Brother's behind the scenes tour.

So should we do both Magic Mountain and then maybe US Hollywood later in the day? Suggestions?

Thanks:love:

I would recommend both. US Hollyweird is not near as nice as Orlando and doesn't have near the attractions and space but its still worth going to see. Six Flags LA is probably the best one around. I went about 10 years ago and it was a great coaster park then, but since then they have added some awesome rides. It looks fantastic, but you need to be into super coasters to appreciate that park that is primarily all its about.

I've done USH before (just got back Monday from a trip out there), yes it's worth it if you like behind the scenes type things, the VIP tour in Hollywood is very much worth it, especially if you go during the work week.

Be prepared for the park, it's more a working studio than Florida, and its not as big, but the tram tour is unique and I like Jurassic Park River Adventure there better than over here, but our mummy is still better.

The tour can't be beat, especially the VIP one, so go for it if you can.

I got to see both Horror Nights, here and in California and although not as experienced at the event, Hollywood did a really good job, and they dropped you off in the backlot by Whoville and the Psychohouse for the "Terror Tram" and let you walk through the sets with scare actors about, and eventually right through the war of the worlds crash site with a full sized crashed airliner there, rethemed to "Crash on Elm Street".

Pretty amazing stuff, and got a small glimpse of the Indiana Jones 4 set which just finished filming there last week too.

We hope to work U into trip next June:thumbsup2

I'm leaning toward a possible "combo" tour that different bus tours offer...

think mann's chinese theater, etc.; then a 1/2 day @ U.

Since I assume (there's that word;) ) each ride is the same @ both parks, not worried about missing their west-coast counterparts.

Please come back & post your opins on your Dec.trip - enjoy!

Shrek and Terminator are the EXACT SAME in FL as they are in CA.
ROTM is different and worth seeing. I like FL's better.
JPRA at USH is different. I like the USH version better.
Backdraft is awesome.
Waterworld I missed, but I heard was phenomenal.
The Studio Tour is a Must Do.

Please refer to my TR (I'll link in a few) on USH. I took plenty of pics, I assure you. :cool2:

Thank you for all the replies.:)

I think we will likely go. Even if we just spend half a day there & some time at the City Walk it will be fun.

But should we do the VIP tour? This way we can see behind the scenes at US & have front of the line too. Though I'm not anticipating heavy crowds, as we'll be there in late November (not thanksgiving)

US Hollywood is an actual movie studio on a historical backlot. USOrlando is a theme park. If you like movies and television shows, it's worth the trip to USH. You can see actual sets like Wisteria Lane from Desperate Housewives, the War of the Worlds plane crash, sets from Jurassic Park Lost World, and many more. Filming from the Pirates of the Caribbean movies took place on the backlot, as well as other movies like Princess Diaries, etc. The backlot tour is worth the trip alone as they take you through all these sets.

If I've already been to Universal and IOA in Orlando and had 1 day to choose between USH and Magic Mountain,I'd do Magic Mountain for sure since I'm a coaster nut.But of course I would still like to see USH to see the differences in the parks and to do the attractions and shows not offered in Florida if I could.
