Has anyone used this airlines for their Disney trip? They seem to have the best rates for the time we are looking for. Positive or negative views are welcome.

I used them .... best value for a flight I even had .... they are the same quality as Continental, or United. Would fly with them again for sure.

We used them once as the price was right... no major issues. It was a red eye and so I can't really say much on how service was on board the plane as our focus was trying to sleep.

I agree with the above, no better or worse than United or Continental.

We used them last year and never again will we do that. They were cheaper. Don't forget they charge $25 per suitcase. They broke our stroller and refused to replace or pay for repair saying it was not their problem. Make sure you have enough time between flights if you stop somewhere. We only had 1 hour between flights in Washington and both flights were supposed to be on the same side of the airport but we almost missed our connection as they moved the departure flight to the other wing of the aiport. It was early in the morning and the shuttle which brings you from one wing to the other of the airport was not working yet (it was only scheduled to run 5 minutes after our flight to orlando departure) and we had to get out of the secure area to get back through security on the other side of the airport. We got to our plane 10 minutes before it was scheduled to leave and they had given our 8 seats at the back of the plane away. They did find us all seats to board but someone must have been really unhappy to be sitting with any of my 5yo. None of us were together nor near. Good thing my girls were really tired and slept the entire trip or the other passengers would have really been ticked off and I wouldn't have blamed them.

We have travelled three times to Disney with US Air (from Bangor to MCO) and had no issues (twice in April and once in October). The flight from Philly to Orlando was a larger jet and very comfortable. There's practically no food unless you pay for it but that's typical for most airlines nowadays. They have the $25 fee for each bag which I don't like but again, flying from Bangor I don't think any of the airlines offer free luggage anymore. We have never had an issue with connections and the flights have always been on time (or a bit early). I would recommend them without hesitation.

Michelle :)

We have used them at least twice and never had a problem. They are no better or nor worse than any other airline now.

yup - we used them as one of the legs of a United flight. I have no complaints. Our plane was small but not nearly as small as the Air Canada plane we usually get from Halifax to Washington

used them twice, once to disney, once to jamaica. im not a huge fan of them, but in all honesty they werent bad. both times it was via philly and i have to say the turbulance coming and leaving from there 4 times was horrible! now that being said i hit turbulance and freak out thinking the planes going down! lol im not a good flyer!

because it was so bad in may to disney they couldnt do drinks for us- altho first class got thiers of course! they also lost part of our double stroller in may and i didnt realize until we hit the dme line. we had a claim number etc but never moved forward to have them replace the foot rest for it. prob should have in hind site, but the kids were getting too big for the sit and stand anyways.

For many years, when I was still flying out of Pearson (Toronto), I flew with US Air several times. It was okay, not great. Better than Delta. Some frustratingly minor issues mostly - like lost luggage, but nothing major until the "last straw."
That was when our US Air flight out of Orlando left late (thunderstorms - about as common as mosquitoes in summer), so our flight arrived 5 min. past our departure time of our connecting flight (Pittsburgh)! They refused us (my under-age daughter and myself) entry onto our connecting flight, even though the plane was RIGHT THERE. It was the last flight out, so we were on our own to find a place to stay for the night in Pittsburgh. After finding one of their recommended places to stay overnight cheaply (at our expense, including cost of being transported there by taxi - shuttle drivers saying it was going to be over an hourlong wait to get all of us to the hotel!), it took forever to get checked in (along with all the others who were directed there). We got about 3 hours sleep before having to get up for the flight they put us on the next morning. No apology, no attempt to help with any of the extra effort, inconvenience, and cost they caused.

Having sat on airplanes as they waited for "late" passengers in other situations, and having a relative who is a commercial pilot, I KNOW just how easily they could have done MUCH better in providing for all their connecting customers. For starters, they probably sold our seats at a premium price at the last minute, without bothering to check if maybe their late passengers were on one of their own late-arriving flights.

I know some folks may not have a choice flying with that airline (unlike me - I now fly Southwest exclusively these days - they are NOT the same as the others - I could fill an entire page of a new thread of my many happy experiences with Southwest. Yeah, they're not perfect, but they are many kilometres ahead of the pack). So, with US Air - or Delta for that matter - just be prepared for whatever might go wrong.
