US Airways Extra 'Bum room'!

I have short legs but a... ahem... 'wide' posterior. We are flying with US Airways for the first time in October (fantastic price by the way) and last night I had a panic attack when I learned that the seats were half an inch narrower than Virgin's i.e. 17" as opposed to 17.5".

Then I saw the post below that said that US Airways offered additional bum room. Does anyone know the truth? I'm kind of embarrassed to call US Airways and ask them myself... I wonder if they get asked that a lot?

Anyway, can someone please confirm one way or the other?

Many Thanks!

Try this really good site, which someone kindly posted on these boards a while back - should give you all the information you need:

http://www.seatguru.com/

Thanks. This is where I got the information from in the first place so I was hoping (fingers and toes crossed) that it was wrong or had changed since this information was posted.

My worst fears have been realised. Will half an inch make that much difference I wonder?

No s******ing at the back...

Honestly, I don't think it will. Put another way, 1/2 an inch of 17 inches is less than 3% of total seat area lost (I think :))

Ah, I feel your pain with this one :D

So you've used seatguru, but have you tried USAirways own site? Here's the link to the seat sizes according to the aircraft used: http://www.usair.com/about/aircraft/

I do hope this provides some comfort ::yes::

Hmm. I can't help at all, but I just wanted to say that I feel an affinity with this thread :p .
