US Airways Bonus Miles

I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post this question, but here goes. I had a free Dividend Miles ticket from US Airways that I just redeemed. I completed travel two weeks ago. I used the online check in for the first time to print my boarding passes which entitled me to 1000 bonus miles. Because the ticket was an reward ticket, no miles will be posted to my acount for the flight. Does anyone know if I will still get the 1000 bonus miles for using online check in even though my ticket was a reward ticket?

I would ask on www.flyertalk.com It used to be that you wouldn't get any bonuses if it was an award ticket. It usually takes a while for the bonus check in miles to post, longer than the flight miles.

You do not get the online check-in bonus for reward travel. I ran into that in April, I used a reward ticket and printed my boarding pass at home. I didn't get the bonus. I checked the website and sure enough in the notes it said reward travel was not eligible. I had a trip in May where I cancelled my niece's ticket on the reservation. It would not allow me to do online check-in, so I didn't get it again. Finally I had a business trip in June that I printed the boarding pass and got the 1,000 bonus.

Ok.So, I think I understand. Since I already used the online check in for the first time and it just happened to be with a reward ticket, I don't get the 1000 miles. Does that mean if I purchase a ticket and use online check in next time I'll get the miles?

You should get 1,000 on your next flight that you pay for. 100 miles for each time after. 50 miles for kiosk check-in.
