My wife & I travel out to Orlando on the 14th April with US Air for a 4 day inspection visit via Phillidelphia. Has anybody travelled with them before? I am interested in the service in Economy.

Thanks in advance.

I've always thought USAirways were one of the better US carriers. They have been having a lot of financial problems recently that have led to some "industrial disputes" between the staff and the company. As to whether this has altered their levels of service I can't say as I haven't flown on them for a couple of years. I've never been unhappy with their flights and I thought their service levels were a match for either Virgin or BA.

I would be interested in any responses also as we will be flying US Air on May 23 and I had heard that they have swapped the aircraft on this route, wondered if this was a permanent arrangement or just temporary?

We are flying with US Airways to orlando via philli on april 22nd and according to there website the 333 will be back in use by then :cool1:

We flew US airways about 2 years ago when they were first in trouble (they were in chapter 11) as they were tight on schedules and turnaround they said our baggage along with 20 other people was lost but the skycabs at MCO said this happened every day as they would be unable to load bags fast enough to turnaround flight so they would regularly leave bags of and send them on the last flight of the day we were told. We were given number to ring when we got to our hotel BCV phoned as soon as we got in they said that they had arrived and would be at resort by midnight to 2 am had little sleep as jet lag act 2am came no bags phoned again but was shut opened up at 6am and a nap and back up at 6am phoned front desk and they said luggage arrived so went down straight away then told that it hadn’t arrived so phoned US air and they said that a named person from Disney desk at 4am had signed for it, when ask front desk that person didn’t start work until 8am this was now 7an one hour before they started phoned US air again they apologised said my bags were on there why and offered me $200.00 compensation bags turned up 10 am and they tried to renege on compensation but Disney stepped in ( a very very high manager due to the fact that they said Disney signed) they even offered to give us the $200.00 but I said I wouldn’t want Disney to pay for someoneelces mistakes they promised me that US airways would pay up and they did. What we do now is make sure we take carry ons with us with first 2 days clothes and toothbrushes (weren’t able to clean teeth properly) it didn’t ruin holiday just made us laugh and not to trust any airline (these are people that regular over book flights)

We flew with US Airways to Las Vegas via Phillidelphia in Dec. To be honest with you we would never fly with them again!! All of the flights were delayed by ay least an hour. We missed our connecting flight to LV on the way out, and we had no help whatsoever in trying to sort out another connecting flight. In fact their staff were downright rude. The flight attendants on the international flights were really rather surly, and acted like they would rather be anywhere else than on that plane. However the attendants on the domestic flights were pleasant and friendly.

While we were in the States there were lots of news reports about how US Airways had lost 1000's of pieces of luggage over the Christmas period!

Hopefully you will have a better experience with them!

Flown US Airways 3 times in the last 2 years, twice through Philly.

Service has been fine but we have been separated from luggage twice (although it always catches up quickly it is a pain). Mainly due to delays in the x-ray process rather than any incompetence.

Wouldn't have any problems flying with them again.

Thanks for the replies guys. You have got me worried now! Its only a 4 day visit to view properties so we will be travelling light anyway, but not light enough to have only hand baggage. If I had booked with them with my 2 boys I would have been really very worried.
I dont think I will let DW know, or she will cancel the visit.

My daughter and son-in-law just flew from Vegas to Phila Fri night on US Air and their flight was delayed 3 hours and they said the plane was really dirty and they will never fly US Air again. Very bad experience.
