The AllEars newsletter is reporting that USAir is now a participating airline in ME. Is this true? I haven't seen any posts on it here. I hope it's true. I would love to be able to check our bags at the hotel on departure.

I read that in the news letter as well, I'm flying US Air this may and that would be great!

We have not heard that at the resorts yet. I'll check and see what I can find out.

It could very well be a per-resort thing until the whole system gets updated.

Thank you Tyler.

Interested to see what tyler finds out, I was told by my AAA TA that they were now, and that was on Monday.

According to the information I have directly from Disney's Magical Express, USAiways is NOT a participating airline.

As soon as I get a moment to talk to one of the Resort Airline Check-in employees I will ask them about that too, because they might know something beyond what DME knows.

If it makes any difference, the new videos in the buses were updated 2/3/06 and make no mention of US Air. Of course Northwest is still mentioned and they don't participate yet, either.

I know Northwest is in the works. I talked to the BAGS Inc people awhile ago, and they were just trying to work out the kinks in the system for NWA.

DMEGS at the airport knows nothing about USAirways adding onto the Resort Airline Checkin.

I will get a chance to talk to the BAGS people again on Sat (if I remember) and I will ask then.

Okay folks, here's the OFFICIAL word.

NO, US Airways is not a participating airline, nor are they currently in the works to become a participating airline.

HOWEVER... the good news is that starting next week, Northwest will start testing at SOME resorts. So that is coming soon! :)

That's excellent news! It was such a nice perk to not have to touch the bags at the airport, so I can just imagine how nice it would be coming home.

OK here is an interesting scenario :confused3 ......I was just searching United Airlines (which is participating in ME) and found flights, but it states "operated by US AIR" it does give instructions to check in with US AIR, even though they are United Air flight #'s, so I would expect this would still DQ it from ME, am I correct?

You can use the full inbound Disney's Magical Express transportation and luggage transfers if you're flying with any airline. The same is true for the DME transportation back to the airport. All airlines "participate" — or, more accurately, DME only comes into play on the ground in Orlando, so the airline doesn't matter.

In fact, DME doesn't have a list of "participating airlines" — only Remote Airline Check-in has a list of "participating airlines."

To use Remote Airline Check-in, the flight must be operated by an airline on the Remote Airline Check-in list of participating airlines. US Airways is not on the list.

Even though your flight also carries a United Airlines flight number, it's still a US Airways flight. So, you won't be able to use Remote Airline Check-in. Instead, your DME driver will load your luggage into the motorcoach for your trip back to the airport. You'll check your luggage and get your boarding passes at the airport.
