Urgent-SBP too hot for cake cutting in June???

This is what I have been planning all along and my wedding is less then a month away. Just talking to Disney and they thought it would be too hot and we should have the cake at the Napa Room. My whole idea of a Disney wedding is pictures at SBP with the cake and Mickey and Minnie. In the whole scheme of life it is minor but I am in tears. What do you suggest? thanks

I mean, it will be hot...it's June in Florida! I would say mid 90s or higher with high humidity. But plenty of brides have had their weddings at SBP and just dealt with the heat. I guess maybe your cake might perspire? Our wedding is at the very beginning of June and the forecast is 91 degrees with 70% humidity.

I can handle the heat because I want the pictures I gathered they thought with a 10:00 wedding it just wasn't a good idea. I am thinking of just going with it as is. I was looking at a fancy cake and it might have had something to do with that

Are you having fondant or buttercream? I have seen some fondant bubble in the Florida heat and some colors bleed (like the dark colors into the lighter ones) with the heat and humidity. However, we got married at the Gazebo in August and it was the hottest August I have EVER been in down there (we always go during the summer) and our buttercream cake was fine. I am guessing it has to do with your choice of cake. I would ask your planner for sure. Maybe you can modify your cake if need be. You may have to choose which is more important the cake decor or the location...and maybe just be aware that they can't guarantee no bubbles or whatever if you leave everything as is.

I just heard bak from my planner and she said I can do it at SBP but she just wants me to know it will be hot, think about my guests and will it be too much for them etc.

I like the taste of buttercream but had been looking at this fondant cake with crystal ribbon.

It is going to be hot! The weather on our wedding day was perfect. Around 85 and almost no humidity and a light breeze but standing there at SBP felt so much hotter! Maybe it was all the layers of the dress but I was dying.

Now, saying all of that I would do exactly what you want! Your guests will be fine for the extra few minutes to do your cake cutting! You want to get the pictures that you want. They had put out a water pitcher for our guests so that helped as well. You might want to make sure this in your BEO. It was on mine but just in case!

emily-would you do it again the same way if you could? You didn't have your cake cutting at SBP right? I remember loving your crystal topper that I have been thinking of switching and I think the picture was inside.

Yes! I would absolutely do it again even as we were saying our vows I was thinking "Wow, we are two sweaty people". SBP is just so gorgeous you should spend as much time there are you can! Our cake was inside. It was fondant if that factors into the issue at all. I think a crystal topper would look spectacular outside in the sun!

emily-do you know how tall your cake topper is. The one Rosie can get for me is 5 inches. I just hope it will look as beautiful as yours. If I go with it.....

We had a 2:30 ceremony in June during the dry heat wave last year and cut the cake at SBP. We managed.

It was 5" and made out of metal. I got it from the Etsy seller Shea Chic Designs. I looked up my invoice and it was $83 including the shipping. Hope that helped!
