Urgent Need Help with RSP - First time Cruise and pin event

This is our first try at RSP. I am a avid pin collector but Villians only and really up for this cruise. I am reviewing the RSP and have a few questions:
On edition sizes of 500 or 750 do you really need to use your RSP to get these? I was told there are less than 200 pin packages on this trip, and if every one uses the same edition of 750 as there first choice (very unlikely....) that would still leave 150 items after the first 3 RSPs.
Is my logic correct?
What size edition do you use your RSP on?
Does anyone know how many pin packages there were sold?

Okay, I have only done one RSP, but this is the advice I got. Put the lowest edition pins that you want first on your 1st choice and then put the rest. Personally, if you want a pin, I would put it on your rsp, just to make sure you were to be in line for it. You know people often ask for more than one and I would want to make sure I asked for one, if it is a pin I really want.

I've never been on a DCL but from what I've heard, the pins only go on sale to those who don't have an RSP the last day, so you need to put them on your RSP to get one. DCL pins are very popular, so don't be surprised if there aren't any on sale to the general cruise passengers.
