Hubby and I are trying to get as much info as we can before we decide to go to the presentation again... we went last year, put down a down payment, and then went home and decided we weren't ready...

my questions are - how much is your payment? did they allow you to allocate some of the funds you spent on your current vacation to your down payment? (one of the dvc stands told us that they would..) What other incentives are available?

Please! Need responses ASAP as we go home sunday!!!:hippie:

There is no program that allows you to apply your rental amount for a Disney resort to your DVC purchase price when you buy there. During the early to mid-90s that kind of "discount" was used but has not been used since.

Current offer for new buyer at AKV getting 100 points is I believe: (a) you get $8 a point off the $104 purchase price, meaning it is $96 a point or total price $9600; (b) you don't get AKV points until 2009 (although possible Dec 2008 still available); (c) you cannot use those points except for a trip that begins after April 30, 2009 (the new Kidani building at AKV opens May 1); (d) to make up for the lack of immediate AKV points to use, they give you 100 "developer points" which can only be used at SSR and must be used within one year after purchase date; (e) you get a $500 Disney gift card which you can use on Disney purchases; (f) you pay closing costs (I believe somewhere in the $300 range but not sure). Your monthly payment if you finance depends on how much you put down and term you choose (you can do up to 10 years). This particular promotion price and extras ends in a week. Unknown what will be offered thereafter.

Maybe its because we bought at Disneyland and not Disneyworld, but our 100 pt buy-in did not come with the bonus 100 developer's points. I believe that is for those who already own DVC and would be adding on. For those new to DVC, it was $96 per point & the ability to only put $500 down if financing (no bonus developers points).

Yearly Maintenance Fees on 100 points = $471

The paperwork we rec'd detailed a 10.75% interest rate on financing. We did not finance, so I don't know if that is subject to change based upon one's credit rating or not.

If you were to buy 160 points (you can finance 100 but it wasn't on our financing breakdown sheet), put $500 down & at their 10.75%, the monthly payment for a five year loan = $321.24 and for ten year = $202.60 per month. Maintenance Fees on 160 points = $754 per year or $62.84 per month.

I talked to a DVC rep yesterday, and she said the current incentives were that you pay only $500 down pmt, DVC pays the rest of the required 10%, and also that DVC would give you matching points for what you purchase, but those points are only good until Dec. 2009 and can only be used at SSR, Disney resort in Calif, or one other place that I can't remember- sorry! This was to make up for that AKV aren't available for use until May 2009.

By the way, this is my first post! How exciting :)
