Could someone please help me with the DVC 30 day policy.

We have a trip scheduled to Vero Beach later this month and I want to be able to switch the last night to a WDW property as our flight times have changed and I don't fancy the drive up from Vero to the Airport on the day we leave.

Will MS let me change one night at Vero to a night anywhere else. I don't mind which DVC resort we get?

Thanks

Sure, if available. If it's less points they'll go into a holding account and expire the end of this use year.

You will need to cancel that last night and those points go into holding. Holding points can be used for reservations within 60 days. So as long as WDW is equal or more points you will be fine. If WDW is less points, you will have some extra "holding points" for the future

Thanks for your replies

We are comming from a 1 bed at Vero and will try for a 1 bed at either BVW, VWL or Beach CLub first - all of which would require a few more points. Even if we end up at OKW we would only loose a few points. I'm just glad that we will be able to make the switch

Good luck, let us know how it works out.

Be sure to check that there is availability before you cancel. Once you cancel, it's firm. If you then can't get availability, ALL the cancelled points will go into holding.

If nothing's available, you might just stay at VB. The drive from VB to the airport wouldn't be that much more (maybe an hour at most) than from WDW to the airport.

Thanks - I am going to phone MS 1st thing tomorrow and check availability first. If they have a room in WDW I'll cancel the last night at Vero. I'd prefer to leave from WDW as our journey back to Ireland is a long one and we won't reach home until 6am on the Saturday after leaving the resort at Vero at 9am on the the Firday. :crazy2:

I'll post back tomorrow with how I got on

I called this morning and they had one 1 bed left at the BWV (nothing at BCV or VWL) so I took the BWV and had to borrow 6 points.

Thanks for all your help
