Well not so much help but, advise..!!!

We have booked to stay 5 nights in Jan 2011 at the DLH.. :cool1:

The bad news is some unscrupulous person has hacked into my email account 2 weeks ago and sent off an email to cancel our booking..!!!! I have just come off the phone to Disney Customer Care and the lady advised me to email the UK Admin team an explain the situation to see if they will re-instate the booking...!!

Does anyone have any experience of this? Also what do you rate my chances of getting the booking put back into place and not having to pay a deposit again? I don't want to have to tell my kids that we wont be going, this was a late xmas presnet and would of been our 3rd trip in 12 months so Disney know we are reliable..!!!! :confused3

Kind Regards,

Jamie

OMG what a nightmare :grouphug:

I can't help but I wanted to bump this for you and offer some sympathy - worst nightmare :(

I'm not sure if the law in France is the same as the UK - but you ought to be protected if it is. Speak to someone in person, speak to your bank etc - they should have reinstated your booking no problem by now but keep bothering them until they do :rotfl: chances are they won't be booked up by a short error.

What a nasty person to do something like that to you :sad2:

It wasn't your fault so as far as finances go, you should be covered by your bank/credit card company for any fraud, or travel insurance as a last resort. Good luck :flower3:

What an absolute nightmare.

I really hope you managed to get it sorted out today, please let us know how you got on.

What a nightmare :scared1: and what a horrible thing to do. :confused3 Was it only the holiday booking they messed with?

Hope you get it sorted soon :wizard: and please let us know the outcome.

Jamie please tell us that you have reported this intrusion to the authorities?

Hope you can get this sorted out :grouphug:

Well..... :confused3

Finally just heard back from DLP.

The story runs deep... we have finally got the holiday re booked..!! but unfortunately due to the same said person cancelling our easyjet flights ( non refundable) we have had to downgrade our accomodation to the Santa Fe and for the week after now going the 11th Jan...!

We seem to have lost a small fortune on this trip but I don't want to let my kids down so will carry on and not let the buggers get to me..!!!

It has been reported to the police etc but I am not holding my breath..!!! :confused3

We will carry on regardless and look forward to the magic in a few months :cool1:

OMG :scared1: This really is terrible.

The main thing is you are still going, ok so it may not be staying at the DLH (overated in my opinion anyway) but the trip will be what you make of it and the Santa Fe is fine.
I had no complaints when i stayed there in December and i am sure you will have a fantastic time.:)

I hope the police are able to do something, do you think it could be anyone you know? someone who was jealous of your trip maybe? :confused3

I know you've now (semi) resolved things, but can I ask, did you pay for any part of the trip by credit card?

You ought to be entitled to a full refund from the credit card company, minus an admin fee of around £50, if you have a police reference number. It's technically a fraudulent transaction.

This might get the flight costs back, as the "non refundable" clause would be irrelevant...

I'd also be emailing the email hosting company to ask for details of the ip addresses who had accessed the account. if you can find this out, you'd at least be able to pursue a civil action against them, with interest, for the money you lost!

That's a good idea, i never thought of that.
