Don't assume that will work. Spirit will probably be able to show that you were scheduled on the first flight, asked to change your flight, agreed to the change fee, and flew on the alternate flight. If so, that makes the charge legitimate in the eyes of the credit card company. You will need to get Spirit to agree that you shouldn't have been charged to get it refunded.
