what do i do? i got an email saying package from disneystore bia ups was delivered and was met with a woman at the door.
only no ones been home and i don't see a package anywhere
I'm on the phone and they said they would try to locate the package.. and took my info and hung up

I'm out nearly 200$ just my luck

How do you know that you are out $200? You haven't given them time to figure out what happened yet. I'm confident it will be resolved and you won't be out $200.
well when i called i asked what "wet with woman customer" meant and was told that someone was at the door and would have took it inside, the driver is supposed to be going back to check, but technically its not just sitting on the porch

feel like its whoever decided to take it into their house item now

I had a similar incident with Banana Republic. I had to be patient and let the investigation take its course. USPS insisted they did in fact deliver the package to the correct house and that if I did not get it, it must have been stolen (we were home all day, I knew that was not true).

I informed Banana Republic of what USPS said, and BR re-shipped my order at no charge.

2 weeks later the original "stolen" package appeared at my door. As I suspected all along, the package was probably delivered to the wrong house and the people who got it eventually routed it back through USPS so I received it. I contacted BR (since they'd sent me out a new order by then) and they emailed me free return labels to send them back the original package.

So have faith, the Disney Store may re-ship at no cost even if UPS doesn't locate the package. That's why businesses have insurance/loss

Like the PP said, usually the company will re-ship you a package if the delivery company messed up. Have faith in the system!

Maybe she was also expecting a package? Maybe she thought it was addressed to her? As mentioned, give the system a chance to work. Was it UPS or USPS? If UPS, they should have someone's signature, not just "met with woman customer". If you haven't gotten resolution in a week, contact the store you got it from.

I got a package delivered here from Amazon. I thought my husband ordered it and set it aside. A couple days later I remembered and we opened it to find some children's books neither of us had ordered. Honestly, we get a package, we open it. I'm not in the habit of checking the name and address on the label. So when I saw it was for the neighbors, I taped it shut and took it over to them.

Give it some time.

Contact the shipper. You do not have a "contract" with UPS. You have a "contract" with the shipper & the shipper has "subcontracted" with UPS.

So, until resolved it is on you to refuse to pay the shipper & on the shipper to file a claim with UPS.

PS Logistics has been my job since 1989, so I'm not just making this up :)

Disney will send out another.

I had this happened with my Limited Edition Oswald case. It was shipped to Brooklyn not Manhattan since the address exists in both parts of NYC. It actually happens all the time to us. When I called Disney they said they would send out another and double check the address this time. I got it 2 days later.

Most of my deliveries from UPS don't require a signature.

My packages from UPS don't require signatures, either, unless they are considered a high value item like jewelry.
UPS has a system which they use to determine areas that are safe to leave packages at the door. It's really handy if you're in one of these zones.

I have heard if enough packages start "walking away" they change the system and require signatures.

Home deliveries never do unless it's authorized by the shipper (at an up charge) or overnight delivery. Commercial technically doesn't either, but 99% of the time the driver will get a signature at a place of business. Additionally, residential deliveries cost more than commercial deliveries ($3.10 per package at the non-discounted rate).

For both of the above reasons, I always recommend having your personal packages delivered to work if at all possible.

We received a package here by mistake. It was a really nice wall clock, hand made from a slab of wood. We had no idea where it came from. Eventually UPS contacted us and said they messed up, and came and picked it up. I had ordered something from another business in the area (No. Cal) and the UPS store at the point of origin put our address on the package by mistake.

Assuming your package was insured, it will all work out.

I had a funny one a couple of years ago. I purchased a refurbished camera from Nikon. I watched the UPS site from work that day it arrived, and when it was marked as "delivered" I went home to get it... only no package was found. I went on the UPS Web site to see the proof of delivery. It had a name listed, and I recognized the name of the person as someone that worked at our local camera dealer! I had to sheepishly go into the dealer and ask them if they had the camera that I bought from the manufacturer instead of them! It seems the UPS driver just assumed all Nikon packages went to the dealer and didn't check the name or address.

We've also had UPS leave some packages at the side of the garage and on the back patio. We thought the ones at the side of the garage had gone missing, but received info from UPS after tracking.

Best of all was when they "hid" an enormous box underneath the welcome mat on the front porch. Why, I cannot say. It simply made it more obvious.

I apologize for assuming. Although I have received at least some UPS packages at home that I had to sign for, it's been a while.

Let them sort it out. One time I accepted a package from UPS. I was expecting a package so I naturally took it. After the driver left, I realized it was not my package. It was a similar name and address. I called UPS and they told me to leave the package out on the front porch and they sent the driver back to pick it up and re-deliver.

Also, they can tell you what address is on the label. One time a package of mine kept getting mis-deliviered. It kept showing as delivered, but I never got it. Turns out the company gave UPS the incorrect address so UPS kept sending my package to the wrong person.

I have the same thing going on with UPS now. Ordered from Home Depot, got the UPS notice "Delivered, left at front door". That should have tipped me off as UPS usually drops at the side door which is sheltered from the weather. So, I go home, no package anywhere. Contacted UPS who said I had to contact Home Deport. So I did, two weeks later Home Depot sends an email requesting me to check my shrubbery and all outside doors. Replied I did that two weeks ago including my neighbors yard (only have one neighbor). Home Depot replies in that case they will contact UPS. Funny thing is I got several packages from LL Bean, Online shoes, Time Warner Cable and Spokane Hardware that were all delivered to my side door before and after this Home Depot incident. Patiently waiting still.

I had a package that they swore was delivered, and the postman could not remember. He thought he delivered to the same address but a different street. It was never found. Then another round I had something delivered and did not realize it. We have a patio off the front bedroom, and the usps person threw it over the fence, it was there for 4 days. And our post office never answers there phone, I finally had to turn them in. It is so maddening with the post office.

You aren't out the $200. You need to give them time to investigate, and regardless, the company you bought the product from will send you a new one to replace what was never received. If they even suggest that they won't, you file a dispute with your credit card company and THEY will intervene on your behalf.
