UPS may have delivered to wrong address

thank you everyone for your advice and your own trials of UPS mishaps ill be honest its a first for me, the reason being it was a limited edition item that is sold out.. lol so while disney may be able to pull some pixie dust they can't until the process of figuring out where the package needed up, and close the case they can't get a replacement one. and the said item has been sold out for awhile (it was gift)

I've calmed down somewhat lol i have OCD ADD and ADHD so little things bother me and i get worked up, UPS said i should get a call tomorrow with a status update.

I would check with your neighbors. One Christmas, a UPS man attempted to deliver a new MacBook Pro. We weren't home so the MacBook was left with our neighbor. The delivery man made no notations except "Delivered." The UPS man came back by our house and swore he placed it on our front porch. My husband was about to die. Anyway, the next day we started checking around and went to our neighbor's houses. Sure enough, our next door neighbor was hanging on to it until we stopped by (he is elderly and has a hard time walking.) Don't give up yet…..keep checking.

Ah yes, the wonder that is UPS.

I had a similar incident this summer. A coworker was expecting a lot of packages and all she had was a PO box which most things couldn't be shipped to so I told her to just have them sent to my house and I would bring them to work for her. She was expecting a tie from cafe press and I was expecting a backpack from LL Bean both to arrive on the same day. Both tracking numbers said the items had been delivered. I got home to find no packages. I searched the front porch, the back porch, the mail box, the garage down the road, glanced at neighbors porches, and nothing.

My coworker kept saying but the tracking number says it has been delivered. Well, it wasn't. I called UPS and they said the same thing, both packages have been delivered. I finally got frustrated with the lady and said well they may very well have been delivered somewhere but they were not delivered here. She said "they were delivered at 12:30." Ok, but again, they weren't delivered here.

They opened up an investigation and I was told to call LL Bean who immediately expedited a new order that was due to arrive 4 days later which is really impressive since the backpack was monogrammed. Anyway, two days later both packages showed up on the door step. I called both companies back to tell them the packages had turned up and to try to stop the replacements but it was too late and I was just told to send back the replacements when they arrived. Two days later I got a phone call from UPS saying they tried to deliver the replacement packages but couldn't find my house. Ummm...you were just there two days ago delivering the first set what do you mean you can't find my house? I got home and DFi told me a UPS worker had stopped by earlier to make sure we had received the original packages 2 days before.......but apparently the driver who actually had the packages couldn't find the house.

I never could really figure out what was so difficult about that. It is not difficult at all to find my house. You take one turn off a main road and it's the first house you come to. I gave the driver step by step directions and he still couldn't find it with GPS.

We had an issue with FedEx last month. DD iPhone 6mo old iPhone died and since we had insurance on it (thankfully) Verizon was sending a new one supposedly to her at school. Upon tracking the package it was showing to come to our home 4 hours from her. We called Verizon to have them divert the package with FedEx. They said they did but it showed up as out for delivery to our home 2 days later. Called Verizon before FedEx showed up and they said the refuse delivery and they would put in a new request to have it sent to DD where she lived. DH was home working in the yard when the driver showed up and refused the delivery as instructed. Later that afternoon FedEx tracking had the package as delivered- left at door- no signature. :badpc: It was a complete mess to straighten out.

UPS' track record for on time, correct delivery is very, very good. (over 99%). However, when it goes wrong, it's very frustrating for the customer. I totally get that. The only time I've had a problem is when I inadvertently transposed a digit on the zip when I placed my order. Arrggh. It went a very wrong place, but then ultimately was routed to me with no problems at all.

Also, I have had problems with what is called "sure post." Service offered by UPS where they transmit the package from the shipper to your post office, which then ultimately delivers it to your home. Nightmares there, and not because it wasn't delivered to the post office, but because the USPS seems to have an uncanny knack for losing the packages.

And, as someone noted above, the vast majority of residential packages are delivered without signature. It would add considerably to a driver's day if he or she was required to collect signatures from each residential customer. The way it works is they drop and run...and they are told to move from the door FAST because engaging in conversation with a customer adds to their day. A driver generally has at least two hundred STOPS per day (not packages, but different addresses). Think about that. In a 8 hour day (most of them work 10+ hours per day, BTW), that's about 30 stops every 60 minutes. Sorry, no time for conversation when you are doing that kind of schedule. And, waiting for someone to answer a door and collect a signature? Are you kidding? That would easily cut in 1/2 the number of deliveries a driver could make. Cut that in half, and you double the cost. Simple.
