UPS help - getting packages not intended for me

Twice in the past 3 months I have received a package for someone else from UPS. The original slip has the person's name and correct address (it is a PO box) but then they print another slip with my address on it, we have the same last name but no one by that first name has ever lived at this address. The first time it happened I took it back to UPS and will have to do the same but is there any way I can make sure they stop doing this? It is a hassle trying to get packages back to them. I am wondering if I just take it to the post office if they will put it in the guys box. I tried finding a phone number for him last time as it says it is legal documents but I could not find his address or phone number.

UPS will not deliver to PO boxes. I would have UPS come get it. Is there sender info on the label? It is a pain but I would try to contact them.

I would call UPS and tell them you have it and then let them worry about how they will get a package that THEY delivered to the WRONG address. You have already attempted to correct it after their first mistake and they have done it again. They can arrange to pick it up from you when you are at home and then they can deliver it properly. It is UPS's responsibility to deliver it correctly not yours. They can always return it to sender then the sender can make sure they have the proper address.

I agree. It wasn't your mistake. Call UPS and have them come and get it. The company sending this package really should have a clue that UPS doesn't deliver to PO boxes, and should have sent it usps Priority or Express.

1)If you have the person's name & city/state, you could always try to look them up on WhitePages.Com with a reverse look-up. You might be able to find their phone number and call them to let them know some yahoo is sending them legal documents via UPS to a PO BOX.
2)You could try to look up whomever it is that is sending legal documents through a service THAT DOESN'T DELIVER TO PO BOXES and tell them the docs are being delivered to you BY MISTAKE.
3)Call UPS, get a supervisor on the phone, tell them you have a package intended for someone else and that you have contacted both the sender and the ACTUAL intended recipient and that THEY MUST COME PICK UP THE PACKAGE & RETURN TO SENDER.
4)Contact all three concerned parties and tell them you are auctioning off the packet & its contents to the highest bidder on EBay.
5)Is there a UPS drop-off box near you? Put "Return to Sender, Delivered to wrong person".
6)Is there one of those Mail Store type places near you? Take the box there, marked "Return to Sender, I AM NOT THIS PERSONpackageDELIVEREDTOWRONGPLACEtwiceYOUIDIOTS"
