Uppy, Uppy, Mr. Andy -- Update -- WRAP UP -- Post 1346, Page 90

Admittedly, I has to skim... but I am caught up! :woohoo:

First, you look like you had a nice Christmas with your beautiful family!

Second, I love the Marco Island pics. So relaxing! I bet that really is a nice way to end a vacation after a trip to the world. Having just got back and then had to get things ready for Christmas...I think a relaxing time at the end may have been good to plan.

Third, the photos of Markie coaching are great! I bet the kids look up to him.

Finally, Markie will be in my prayers. I know that no matter how old they get they are still our babies... and when our babies are sick it is so hard on us moms. for you...

That gift card was such a nice idea! Looked on FB like you were having a wonderful Christmas Kathy!:santa:

It sounds like you had an awesome Christmas and a wonderful weekend. I promise to catch up in full this week. I am so far behind on everyone's TRs. I also can't wait to see the Christmas gift from Nicky. I can't see the picture and I am very intrigued by the phrase, "I didn't even know you could do that". What the heck is it???? :confused3:rotfl:

Hi Kathy

I've been away from the DIS for a while now however I am off today and am catching up on all my subscribed threads.

I got all teary when I read about the purple balloon on your last day. What a nice way to remember your dad.

Loved the Marco pictures. It looks so beautiful there.

Sorry to hear that Markie isn't feeling well. We're thining of him and his upcoming appt on the 3rd.

Hi, Ann. Good to have you back, and I certainly understand about "skimming."

Christmas was wonderful...just too short with Markie and Alisha.

I love relaxing at Marco after all the craziness of Disney (especially this last trip when it was busier than we are used to).

The kids love him, as do all the parents (they were very generous with him for Christmas).

Thanks; he says the headaches are better, but Alisha still did all the driving this weekend.

That gift card was such a nice idea! Looked on FB like you were having a wonderful Christmas Kathy!:santa:

Thanks, Tammie. Wasn't that just a great gift card? We had a very nice Christmas, and hope you did too.

Wonderful Christmas photos of your family, Kathy!

Looks like you had a fun time.

Thanks, Karin; I like the pictures too...except of me...I look so tired (perhaps because I was :confused3).

Well, MaryEllen, I guess you are just going to have to come back tonight to find out what the gift was. ;)

Christmas was wonderful, but exhausting.

Hi, Sophia. Yes, you've been gone awhile, but we understand.

Thanks...Marco is beautiful.

Hopefully, we'll have some positive news early next week about Markie.

Today we woke up realizing it was our last day on the Island and that tomorrow we'd have to drive back to Orlando for our flight and head home. :sad2: It is often harder to leave Marco than it is to leave Disney these days.

We normally go to the beach on the last day, but I was getting a little too much sun on the open beach with not much shade, so we decided to just hang at the pool this day.

We drove to Starbucks for coffee and breakfast and then when back to the condo to get into our swimsuits and hit the pool. There is NEVER anyone at the pool in the morning; in fact, most of the time we had the pool to ourselves. :thumbsup2

Mark watching for dolphins for the last time from the pool:

Me, being sad, because we would be seeing Nicki and Todd for the last time tonight and we would be leaving paradise:

Mark closing up shop for this trip so we could head up to the room and shower and change for dinner:

Showers taken, Mark and I headed to the dock for what has become our traditional last picture on the dock:

And we found this one guy, as we walked along the dock to head to the car to go meet Nicki and Todd:

Continued in the next post

So we said goodbye to the dolphins and all of our bird friends and hopped in the car to drive to see Nicki and Todd for our last dinner together. Tonight we were dining at:

For some reason this trip, I seemed to be drinking a LOT by myself. :confused3 But I was on vacation and I was living it up. I had myself a tasty:

(Okay...I'll admit, I ended up having two...but they were so tasty)

Then it was time for photos of mismatched couples:

And then, of course, a final group shot:

After yet another yummy dinner at The Dock, we drove over to Starbucks to linger over coffee together...we just weren't yet ready to say goodbye.

We had our drinks and sat and talked and laughed (the management must have thought we were nuts).

Then it was time to go, but I wanted a couple of more pictures before we left:

We walked outside and I was determined I was NOT going to cry this time when we said goodbye like I did last year. Nicki walked to the car and I thought she wasn't going to say goodbye until she walked over and hugged Mark; therefore, I went and hugged Todd and told him I loved him and we'd be back as soon as we could. Then Nicki came over to me with tears in her eyes and I said, "no crying allowed" and we both were then in tears.

It was the perfect end to a perfect trip.

Up next, time to go home and some souvenirs

What a beautiful family :goodvibes We hope you guys had a wonderful Christmas weekend...I know you were happy to have the boys and their gals there :thumbsup2

I have to tell you Kathy, you and Mark seem like such sweethearts, its so touching to see the true friendship you share with Nicki and Todd...it really makes me smile to see the pictures and hear about your times together!! :goodvibes

Great Christmas pictures! As we both know well, there never seems to be enough time with the kiddos.

I knew that you and Nicki would never be able to say goodbyes without at least a few tears.

Oh, a teary eyed goodbye ..............

did I expect something else?

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! :rotfl2:

It's always hard to say goodbye to your good friends and I know, Nicki and you have a special connection. ;)

Okay, back to business! Love the new photos - food porn looks yummy! I am so sad it is over already, but at least you have another trip in the works! :thumbsup2

Beautiful Christmas photos, Kathy...

Ahhh...the goodbye has me misty eyed too..never easy to say goodbye to dear friends.

Do you think you would raise a family in Florida? Knowing how much you love it now...but what if your boys were young? Would you move there, if possible? Just wonderin'...

Never like when your TR's come to an end.... :( But always happy you had such a wonderful trip.

I hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas! Great pictures! :cool1:

And another fun Marco update! Looks like you had a great last night with Nicki and Todd!

I am so far behind! I'm going to get caught up, but I wanted to say that the photo of the jellyfish is really cool! And my mouth is watering over that photo of the bread & butter!!! The group shot of you guys is really nice, too.

I lovelovelove all of your photos from the beach & the condo! You got some great shots of the birds & that pretty flower. I think my favorite is the lizard, though!
That is the coolest gift card! What a great gift. Your family & Christmas photos are really nice, too!

Aww Kathy! I got all caught up and almost cried several times!

Giving your extra FPs to that couple as you left DHS was soo sweet! It's funny how something so simple can mean so much to someone else! We gave some FPs to a couple a few years ago and they had almost the same reaction...I thought the girl was gonna burst into tears! Only in Disney do you get that kind of magic!

Andy's pics with Pooh are FANTASTIC! Good thinking getting him to go alone first!

Your Epcot pics are great! I can't wait to Drink Around The World again!

I love Kona! Can't wait to go there again! Looks like you had a great last day in WDW! I always always always forget to go to the bakery before we leave! I have to make a note to be sure and stop there on our July trip! Andy's fudge looks so good, it's no wonder he couldn't wait to eat it! Mine would be lucky to make it out of the parking lot!

OK gotta go make dinner!

awe... sad goodbyes :sad2: Not easy to ever say good bye to fl, but when there is someone there to actually say goodbye to it makes it that much more difficult

OMG. What a sad ending. I am tearing up just reading it. You know - I think you and Mark definitely need to retire in San Marco. You both love it so much. How can you not?

Drinking alone, eh? Why the heck not. :rotfl:

Now I have to say that I never would have guessed the Disney gift card with your picture on it in a million years. That is so fabulous. I want one!!!!!

Great Christmas pictures of the parents and the kids. I really enjoyed them.

Sorry to see you TR come to a close. :sad1:

Christmas looks like it was wonderful. I love all the family shots in front of your gorgeous tree. I love that you have a nice, big window to put your tree in front of. I always think that looks so nice. :goodvibes

Today we woke up realizing it was our last day on the Island and that tomorrow we'd have to drive back to Orlando for our flight and head home. :sad2: It is often harder to leave Marco than it is to leave Disney these days.

I can totally see this, what with leaving your BFF. Not to mention that Disney is a fantasy; a beautiful, magical fantasy most of us would never want to leave yet we all know we must, eventually. Marco, on other hand, is a beautiful place in real world where some of your favorite people live and why wouldn't you want to stay there? I know I would. Definitely hope you get to retire down there and soon. :goodvibes It just looks so beautiful.

I'm sure it was hard to say goodbye to Nicki.
