planning on upgrading my current WDW AP to premier passport. Did a search but am getting conflicting info and a little outdated.

1. where in disneyland do I do this?
2. cost difference? is it the difference btwn what i paid (bought in 2012) and the current price of the premier passport ($849) or the difference btwn the current gate price and the $849?

thanks, Candice.

Not sure where to go in DL, but you just pay the difference. They don't prorate the rest of the year or anything. We have the Premiere Passport! We bought it this year...

1. Any ticket both can perfoem the upgrade.
2. Typically, you will pay the difference between what you paid and the current price.

And it will take a while- this is not a smooth process. Apparently one of the parks (dont remember if it's WDW or FL) pays tax and one doesn't- or it's different tax or something- so there will be some phone calls and calculations made at the window. I upgraded in July and it took a good 20 min to accomplish. Just a heads up! The two parks dont talk to each other on the computer (tickets not linked) so they have to do the version of snail mail by calling WDW and getting info about your pass.

Be patient- do this on a slow day/time if possible.

FL charges a tax on their pass, CA does not charge tax.

Great guys. That answers my question. I was planning on doing this my first day since I arrive in the evening and not hitting the park until day 2.

Thanks again :)

And for the Premier you pay tax on half the price no matter where you buy it.

OP, remember your expiration date will remain the same.

I just did this a few weeks ago.

The ticket booth will know exactly how much you paid for your pass, and you'll pay the difference. I had a WDW discounted DVC premium AP, and was kinda hoping they'd give me the full price credit :rotfl: Oh well! On the plus side, the 20% discount on most things is a big help. I'm sad WDW cut it down to 10% after I bought it...at least I got one trip with the 20%.

Does anyone recommend a particular DL ticket booth that's less busy/crowded on a summer weekend? When I upgraded my WDW AP to a Premier at WDW, I found the Epcot guest relations booth was quick, efficient and uncrowded.

But now we're planning to upgrade my husband's WDW AP to a Premier at DL and arriving on a Saturday afternoon in August. We'll check in at GCH and have no pressing plans for the afternoon, but would prefer to be as efficient as possible with three kids who will be eager to get to the parks!

Don't smack me, but I think the answer is going to be the one with the shortest line. Your only options to do this upgrade are the ticket booths that you must walk past anyway on the east and west sides of the DLR esplanade. You're staying at GCH, so just scope out the west ticket booth lines after you pass through the security check and get in the shortest one.

I upgraded a couple of park hoppers to a couple of Premiers in March, and as others have said, it will take a good twenty minutes to accomplish--your wait at the ticket window will probably be longer than your wait to get to the ticket window, anyway.
