Upgrading UK Ultimate 14 day to Annual Pass

We have bought 14 day ultimate tickets for our October Holiday, but wondered if when I am there I can 'upgrade' this to an annual pass?

Having read stuff on here, I now wished that one of us (me) had piuchased an annual pass instead of the 14 day, so that we can gain some of those benefits (eg - we are staying off site so the free parking at disney benefit would be useful, and some of the shop discounts, etc). Also there will be six of us, so purchasing the dining discount (tables in wonderland card) now seems in hindsight to be a good idea.

However I am stuck with the 14 day pass, unless someone can let me know that I will be able to upgrade it? Anyone done this?

Advance thanks

Unfortunately the 14 day Ultimate is not upgradable.

See ticket advice sticky here http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1452684

Specifically this bit

E. I have a special ticket I would like to upgrade. Can this be done?

The only upgrades that can be done are to regular or Florida Resident MYW tickets, or Annual Passes to a higher level of Annual Pass.

Special Tickets include Touch of Magic, YES (Youth/Educational/Sport) Program, used or unused Special Event Tickets (MNNSHP, MVMCP, PPP, NoJ) after the date of the event, any ticket that includes the word “comp” or “complimentary” on it, and any tickets that are not sold at the Park Gates cannot be upgraded or modified in any way. The last group also includes convention tickets and the Ultimate Park Hopper tickets not sold in the US or Canada.

Is this a new rule because I have upgraded a 14 day ticket in the past. I did it in 2005.

No idea, never heard of a 14 day being upgraded, it is supposed to be a UK only ticket with no US value so the system can't work out an upgrade price.
Wonder how they did it for you?

I think back in 2005 there were still different ticket types as MYW had not been introduced for long so may have been able to upgrade the 14 day ticket then.

We did it last year. By luck asked a very knowledgable cast member at MGM.

He said we had to wait until the last day as we had DDP on our cards and that it had to be a PAP because of the water park option.

What he also said was that not many CM's knew how to do it so he wrote down instructions for us to give to which ever CM ended up upgrading the tickets.

I kept the instructions if anybody wants a copy.

Any chance you can post the instructions? would be great to know how, Something we might consider, we have had AP's for past 2 years but giving them up this August to get free DDP, bought 21 day tix.

Thats great.
Any ideas what the upgrade price was? I know it will have increased this year but last years price would help.

I will have to have a look at our credit card statement to see how much we paid as I really can't remember. I want to say around $220

I do remember working it out to be roughly the advertised price (not discounted) worked back to $'s with an around average exchange rate and then the difference between the two.

HTH.

Just looked a PAP is £420, our 21 tix are £240, if I could upgrade for £180 or even a little more I would be more than happy.
Did your AP then start from the day you exchanged or from when you activated your 14 day tix(guess its the latter)

does anyone know if you can upgrade 14 days to non expiry?
we have to buy them for free dining but we've got APs, i've been told that they will expire on dec 31st

If this still works this is great news. I have purchased the 14 day UK ultimate without the dining plan (just the park tickets) - which I regret doing as I really want an annual pass instead - so would love to do this on first day there. Wonder if I called them they would do it in advance of my arrival somehow?

Can I ask though, on the note what does it say or mean by KTTW?

To be honest you wouldn't want to do it before you got there.

The way to upgrade wdw tickets is to use it at least once before you upgrade. This ensures that you get the full price of the ticket towards your upgrade. If you take an unused ticket to upgrade you will get the price you (or your tour op) paid for it.

KTTW = Key To The World. If staying at a disney resort this is your hotel key card which holds your park tickets, DDP credits and use for charging privileges.

If anyone between now and October does try this, can you post and let us all know that it still works and that you can updgrade a UK ultimate ticket to an annual pass when you are there.

Cheers

Last week I tried to do this and was told it was not possible anymore!!!
