Hi all, Myself wife and 2 teens are flying out to TPA on 14th aug from LGW.I am looking at possibly upgrading the outward flight to WTP, looking at manage my booking, the price quoted varies from £380 to nearly £470 each, one way!! Has anyone recent experience at upgrading upon check in and if so how much etc.

your views would be appreciated

question is : will there be WTP seats available upon check in ?
and if there are, will you be able to find 4 seats in close proximity to one another ?

Those were my first thoughts. With teens it's not essential to all sit together as it is with young children, but going on a family holiday, it would be nice to to have to split up. That said, your WTP cabin is going to be a lot smaller and more compact, as in fewer seats, than economy so perhaps not as big an issue.

Anyone wanting to upgrade at check in is taking a risk on availability. As long as you accept that you may not be able to get an upgrade on the day and you are happy with that, you have nothing to lose. It would be annoying if they have 3 cheap upgrades at the desk on the day though, when you need four
