Upgrading to APs with DVC discount

We are in the process of purchasing a DVC contract. I am hoping it will have closed and that we'll be official DVC owners before our trip in November. However, I doubt we'll have closed by the time we need to book our FPs in September. I am planning to buy six-day PH tickets for the trip. Will it be possible to upgrade them to APs with the DVC discount when we get to WDW? If so, where and how do I do that?

You can upgrade at any park or DTD guest relations

Use your tickets for at least 1 entry before upgrading (it doesn't hurt and may save you money) I typically upgrade as I'm leaving for an afternoon break.
BTW you can only make 6 days of FP+ reservations with that 6 day ticket before you upgrade.
