Upgrading to AP around 4th of July

We currently have 4 day park hoppers and will be going into the parks on July 2, 3, 5, 6. We have other plans for the 4th. We will be upgrading to Deluxe Annual Passports. We are also staying at Paradise Pier. Should we upgrade on the morning of the 6th, since the 5th is blacked out? If we do, will we have to pay $40 per person to get into the parks on the 6th, since it is also blacked out? Thanks in advance for any comments and/or suggestions.

If you're getting the Deluxe you will want to upgrade on your last day. You use your park hoppers to get in, go to the bank on Main Street and upgrade there. You will get the full credit of your PH's towards your AP and you will not have to pay the upgrade fees.

If you do it before your last blackout day you will have to pay the extra $40 to get in.
