Upgrading to annual pass ?

3. Actually, recent posts say that if you link the ticket from an authorized discounter to your MDX account, you can upgrade it before arrival directly from your MDX account.
4. Maybe on the phone. More likely, it could be done directly on-line.
5. It is actually NOT POSSIBLE to activate an AP unless it is done in-person while at WDW.
6. Yes, and you can make FP+ in advance using your (as yet) unactivated AP certificate.

Awesome! Thank you so much for your help! My son is actually going on a band field trip to Disney the very next week after we go on spring break. The band leader said that the trip could be discounted for kids who have passes but since we didn't plan on upgrading until we were actually on site the week before his band trip, she wasn't sure how that would work. I guess they need to have enough time to arrange these things in advance for the trip (i.e. which kids are getting 3 day park hoppers and which kids have passes). This will be super helpful to be able to get the pass in advance!
