Upgrading to annual pass.

I wonder if someone would be able to help me please?

We leave tomorrow for our trip to WDW so if anyone can help me beforehand it would be greatly appreciated.

We are planning on upgrading our 14 day tickets to Annual passes and I have a few questions.

Do we need to change them to annual passes immediately before we enter the first park on our first day?

How much will this roughly cost us? We have called the WDW in the US a number of times but noone has been able to really help us! We're budgeting on an additional £700, are we a million miles away?

If anyone can help me I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.

You can upgrade your 14 Ultimates any time while they are still active.

No one can give you a price as it will all depend on the cast member on the day as there seems to be no set price.

Something to remember - if you go into anything other than the 4 main parks you will have to upgrade to a PAP.

I have just done the 14-day-ulitmate to AP upgrade 3 weeks ago. I picked up my ticket 2 days before my package started, used it for a couple of days but did not use any of the water park fun an more entitlements and then was able to upgrade to a regular annual pass. Including tax, the price was around 250 $.
BUT: I did have some trouble with the upgrade. Was told this kind of ticket can't be upgraded at the parks. I finally did get the upgrade at guest services @Downtown Disney. They seem to have a lot more experience with upgrading tickets.

I'm pretty sure that the AP will be issued from the first day you use the Ultimate, so it won't last any longer by leaving it until the end.

Its all down to the CM. Officially it should go back to the start date of your Ultimates but many people (including us) have had their AP started from the date they upgraded.

CF is very knowledgable but its down to the CM on the day (although he insists Ultimates are only valid 14 days & 21 days, I dispute it and say they are valid 15 & 22)

Done it for the last 4 Augusts, as I post in my live thread each year. Only way I have heard its not possible is if you use for 14 consecutive days, then it can't be used on the 15th, we always have days away from Disney so never tried.

CF is a man and I believe his real name is Mike (could be making it up but thats what i seem to remember )however he has been mentioned by Pete on the podcasts and always referred to 'him'

With regard to the 14/21 day tickets when I tried to get 15 days it didn't work as we had used them everyday. When I checked as GS they said X days to be used by x. So I would guess you can used 14 days over a 15 day period.

We upgraded last night at Guest Services at Downtown Disney and were very pleasantly surprised! We upgraded our 2 x adult tickets and 2 x children's tickets and only paid £550 in total! I was expecting to pay more than that.

As for the argument about when they would be valid from it's quite interesting. When I asked the cm he told me it was from the first day they were activated but when he put it through the system it did it from that moment - should have waited until the last day!!!! Although now we can take advantage of all the discount.

Did you upgrade to a Premium AP (with waterparks etc)?

No, we decided to stick with the regular pass as we are coming back in Dec for xmas so won't be using the waterparks. We just made sure that we hadn't used tickets for water parks before upgrading the tickets.
